Playhouse
gets grant
GRAND BEND - Huron Coun-
try Playhouse today announced the
approval by the Ontario Arts
Council of a grant in the amount
of $43,000.
The Province of Ontario,
through the Ontario Arts Council,
awards grants annually to deserving
arts organizations, who met their
criteria; and although these grants
cannot be considered as a recurring
annual commitment, the Play-
house in Grand Bend has been able
to secure increased funding each
year, since 1974 from the Ontario
Arts Council.
The money is used towards the
operating of the productions, and is
not allocated to capital works.
The Playhouse has also applied
to the Canada Council for further
operating funds, and to date has re-
ceived no commitment, but look
forward to a positive response to
their request.
