The boys slept at the arena in
sleeping bags and did all their own
cooking. They went on a ramble.
around town and hiking at St. Jo-
seph.
On Sunday before . leaving for •
home they treated themselves by
making a 36 ft. long submarine
sandwich.
Personals
Annie Finkbeiner spent last Tues-
day to Sunday visiting with sister,
Greta Kerswitl in Akron, Ohio.
Kevin and Jennifer flunking were
visiting with mother, Dorothy
Crites in Stoney Crcck.
Grade 6, 7 and 8 students at St.
Boniface School were treated to a
Valentine Dance in the gym Friday
afternoon.
High school students from the
area enjoyed their annual ,three-day
ski trip to Blue Mountain in Col-
lingwood.last Wednesday to Friday.
Four full buses of teenagers hit the
slopes with ideal weather condi-
tions. -
Juliette Denomme returned home
after a week with her daughter, Lu-
cicne and Eldon Denommc in Lon-
don.
About 10 ladies have started knit-
ting lessons at the Country Duck in
Zurich. They are instructed by Max-
ine Peters every Monday night for
the next six weeks, by which time
they will have learned how to knita
sweater.
Congratulations to Karen and Ray
Mathonia on the arrival of their sec-
ond son.
Jerome and Carmel Sweeney
along with Laurene Corriveau went
to London last Thursday to pay
their respects to'the late, Mrs. Eve-
lyn Reed.
A card party will be held at St.
Peter's Parish hall, St. Joseph on
Sunday, February 19 at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $2. .
Lou and Delores Schilbe returned
home, after a two-week vacation on
St. Kits Island.
A baby shower was held at the
home of Kim Crete on Saturday af-
ternoon for her sister Peggy Matho-
nia and little son Robbie.

ZURICH - Happy Valentine's to
all of our readers. Our craft room
supervisor, Mary Ellen Gingerich
made the Home festive with her dec-
orations.
The regular monthly meeting of
the Ladies Auxiliary was held Tues-
day evening. Music was supplied by
Clare Masse who played the guitar
and was accompanied by Maxine
Ducharme on violin.
We are pleased to have our two
volunteers, Kelli Kirk, enrolled in a
Co -Op program from South Huron
.District High School who assists in
the Nursing Department and Patti
Regicr, a Co -Op student from Fan-
shawe College specializing in Rec-
reation Leadership.
Wednesday morning, Patti super-
vised the baking of some tasty mor-
sels by some of the residents. There
were a number of happy faces dur-
ing the procedure as well. as some
onlookers with watering mouths.
Friday was "hat day" and brought
out an interesting display of hats
worn by both residents and staff. It
was a fun time, thanks to Patti and
Catherine Shantz.
The Sunday evening chapel ser-
vice was conducted by' Rev. Clayton
Keupfcr of the Zurich Mennonite
Church.
We thank the Conservative Men-
nonite singers who performed for
the residents Sunday afternoon.

'The Ladies Auxiliary held their
monthly meeting at the Rest Home
February 7.

arc at Carol Stecklc's flower shop in
Zurich.
A Mother's Day .tea will be held
on Saturday, May 13.

The first meeting of the'new 4-H
club was held at the Zurich Public
School on February 7.
