Dan. Shea, arrived last week and
. was given a special welcome after

. WINGHAM - Valentine's Day is
a time to show those we love just
how much 'we care about them.
So what will we give them? Ros-
es? Chocolates? Why not make a.
donation, in your : sweetheart's
name, to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation of Ontario's 4989 -fund
raising campaign? • -
Valentine's Day. marks the mid-
point of Heart and Stoke Month.
The success of the door-to-door and
special events campaigns in com-
munities. across Ontario is critical.
to_ the Foundation achieving this
year's record S26 million target.
According to Barney Goldsmith,'
president of .the Huron County.
chapter of the Foundation, the ef- .
fort is worth it. "Despite the_in-
credible advances in medical re-
search over the last 30 years, we
still have a long way to go.. Death
rates for heart diseaseand stoke
have declined -34 percent since
1955, but one out of every two
Canadians is still at risk.
Approjcimately 30,000 Ontarioi-
ans will die from cardiovascular
disease this year. The Foundation
funds more than two-thirds of On-
tario's research into heart disease
and stroke. It's individual dons-
, tions that make it all possible." -
News from Lucan
Lucan Revival Centre
LUCAN = Rev. Robert Mason
conducted the Sunday morning ser-
vice. Mr.Tim Kritzer led the sing-
ing. Miss Lauren Harrison read a
poem she wrote, Father to child.
.Miss Gail Damon presented
groups from different Ontario
churches of teenagers who had been
at the Retreat for Teens held at
Christian view Bible College. One
group acted out a skit where the
devil put ideas in people that be-
came their life's pursuit.
Then he said he promised many
things to people, but they were
lies. The second skit showed a
young person persuading another to
look at Jesus, the Light 'of the
World.
Pieter, Schinkleshoek ministered
from 11 Timothy 2:15-15, and 3:1-
17. From verse 15 he stressed the
importance to study the word of
God,. as God teaches us wisdom
through His word. Verse 16 warns
us to stay away from people who
think they know the true word of
God, and argue about it. Studying
the word of God gives us wisdom
that we do not argue about God's
word in ignorance.
Sunday evening Pieter Schinkle-
shock led the service. Rev. Roger

Mason spoke from 1 Samuel 27:1.
David, the future King of Israel,
was getting tired of being pursued
by the present king Saul. When a
Christian has been spiritually fight-
ing against Satan's attacks, they
also become weary. In times of de-
pression, never make major deci-
sions. David made the wrong deci-
sion Saul was going to' kill him.
This was unbelief.
Communion was served after. the
service. p .
