from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The iew slogan of John Deere is
"Running Out Front" and that's ex-
actly Nhat Huron Tractor has done
during 1988.
Herb Verbeek, one of the Huron
Tractor owners in revealing his
company was the largest combine
deaer in Canada and the second
largest in North America during•the
jus concluded year said, "It's quite
anaccomplishment."
John Deere is gearing up for the
1990's and have spent over $200
pillion a year in research and de-
-velopment and is determined to live
up to the slogan of Running Out

Huron Tractor officials are just

ments the increased noise -reduction

wide with plenty of room for a pas-
senger on the optional second seat."
Herb Verbeek added, " The new
John Deere products are very cost-
effective. The latest in manufactur-
ing techinques allows the company
to produce lower priced machinery
and this will reflect in lower prices
to the farmer.
Another of the partners, Earl
Long said 1988 was a turnaround
year for farmers and farm machinery
dealers. He added, " It was the best
year during the '80's. World wheat
and grain supplies are low right
now. This should provide stability
for farm prices.'.
On the subject of Free Trade, Earl
Long said, " It has a positive effect
• and will help us with a bigger selec-
tion of replacement parts at lower.
prices. Machinery has not teen af-
fected as it has been duty free in the
past."
The year 1989 is a "milestone"
for two other locations of Huron
Tractor The Blyth Service Centre
has been in operation for 15 years
and the Huron Tractor dealership in
Walkerton has completed 10 years.
During 1988, a Huron Lawn and
Garden division was established in a
desire to•become more involved in
the sales of garden and lawn equip-
ment to the off -the -farm market.
