CREDITON - In our first '89 art
class we learned how to do pastel
blending. We did a shape on paper.
Then we pastel blended it. The
week later we did an animal. They
were a lot better than the other
ones. Mine was a horse. There are
,19 different kinds of animals repre-
sented in our art gallery. They are
• very well done.
Danny Gielnik - Room 5.
In Environmental Studies we
have] been studying several things.
My favorite subject was Domesti-
cated Animals. We learned that
there are over 50,000.different kinds
of animals in the world and about
50 kinds of those animals are do-
mesticated. That's not very many.
Did you know that cows don't have
any top teeth? They cat by wrap-
ping their tongues around the grass.
I can't imagine eating like that!
Kim Goners - Room 5
We started writing our speech a
little while ago. We're going to
start saying them some time in ear-
ly February. It's part of our English
mark. I like listening to the speech -
Some of them are really funny.
In Health we watched a film strip
and we did some work about signs
of danger. The film was about two
aliens coning to Earth to find out
about . some things. They got
Thirsty and they were going to drink
poison. They saw the sign on it and
they thought it was pirate juice..
Two humans came along and
stopped them and told them it was
poison. The humans taught the ali-
ens. the signs of danger and they
gave them a poster with the signs
of danger.
Ross Beatty - Room 8.
There are four signs of danger.
There is a skull" and cross bones
which means that this stuff is poi-
son. Another sign is the blaze of
fire which means thataheat will
make it shoot up in flames. Anoth-
er -one is a bomb bursting that
means that heat will make this liq-
uid explosive. And the last one is a .
skeleton hand. This skeleton hand
mans that if you touch it with bare
skin it will -burn off your skin.

It was dangerous to go to Surtsey

The first thing you do to learn to
ski is put on the skis. Next you
pick up the poles. Then you move
one pole forward and slide the op-.
posite ski forward. You keep on
doing This. To turn you move one
ski a little bit then you do the
same with the other foot. You do
this until you are facing the direc-
tion you• want to go. The first time
you ski you will probably fall
down a lot.
Christine Pertschy - Room 8.
In January guy whole class has to
write a speech. Weare having our
fist class speech on January 31,
February 1,2 and 3. 1 am doing
mine all about my brother's rab-
bits. I am trying to learn all about
rabbits but their are hardly any rab-
bit magazines. Sometimes I make
up a speech for myself. If -I were to
write a speech of five minutes, I
would write about all my trips that
I went t and camped. 1 have
camped in so many places that it
would be easy.

Here are some examples:
I could have been a doctor but I
didn't have the patience.
I could have been a pro baseball
player but I got thrown out
I could have been a carpenter but
I got screwed up:
1 could have been a snowplow
driver but,I couldn't get the drift of
it.
I could have been a photographer
but I didn't get the picture.
I could have been. a pool player
but I sewered at the bank.
I could have been a chauffeur but
it drove_, me up the wall.

What we learned today
Constable Marshall came and we
,.listened to a film and it was about
touching. My favorite part was
when a girl was walking home
from school and she dropped off at
her next door neighbours and the
man asked her if she would like
some lemonade. Sotheywent into
the kitchen and he got her some
lemonade and the man took her
clothes off and the girl said no and
• then she ran away. •

Very rarely will you find top
quality furniture at prices
like these, but we have to
make room for our new
1989 stock. We've drasti-
cally reduced the prices on
dining room sets, bedroom
suites, sofas, chairs, sofa -
beds... everything! These
floor models and discontin-
ued stock must be cleared
out. Most are one of a kind,
so hurry.
