Runners-up - The Lucan Irish Flyers were finalists in their division at the Exeter Molting Hawks Tour-
nament at the South Huron Rec Centre Sunday. They lost 3-2 to Sarnia Old Oilers in the final game.

Lucan, Sarnia, Belmont win in
EXETER - Lucan Classics, Sar
nia Oilers and Belmont each won
their division in the sixth annual
-Molting:Hawks hockey tourney on
the weekend.
All three final games were excit-
ing with one being decided in sod-
• den -death overtime and another in a
shootout.
The tourney opened up Friday
night with Stephen Township los-
ing to Strathroy 11-.5, Lucan Fly-
ers edged the, London Blues 4-3,
. East London took Andys Old
Wrecks .6-1 and Lucan Classics
beat London Old Tractors 3-1.
On Saturday, Godcrich and Bel- .
mont played a 1-1 tie, Sarnia Oil-
ers edged London. Relics -4-3, Lucan
Classics beat Stephen Township 6-
1, Strathroy edged London Old
Tractors 2-1, East London beat
Goderich 3-2, Sarnia Oilers beat
London Blues 2-0, Belmont beat
the Old Wrecks 6-2, Lucan Flyers .

Sunday's games saw Belmont
beat East London $-3, Lucan Fly-
crs. tied Sarnia Oilers 5-5, Goderich
beat the Old Wrecks 5-2 and Lon-
don Relics beat the Blues 7-2.
The F division final featured the
Lucan Classics and Strathroy. The
game. went into overtime before
Bryan Dick scored in sudden -death
overtime to give the Lucan Clas-
sics the tournament win. Goaltend-
er .George Robinson won top goa-
lie in the tourney with the lowest
goals against in preliminary round.
Andy Hardy was the M:V.P. for
Lucan while goaltender Jim Ford
was M.V.P. for Strathroy. The lE"
division saw the Lucan Flyers. play
Sarnia Oilers with the Oilers edg-
ing Lucan 3-2. Duke Curran was
M.V.P. for Sarnia while Bob
L'Hcurcux was thewinning goal
scorer.
Cord Hardy was the M.V.P. for
the Lucan Flyers. The "D" division

EXETER - The -Exeter Crunchers
can claim Atom Divisionbragging,
rights in Exeter after beating their
cross-town rivals the Exeter Bell
Atoms 5-3 at the Ree Centre fast
Wednesday night. .
The victory by the Crunchers
.was the second of the year over the
• .Bells this season in two Meetings,/
- - The Crunchersled 2-0. after to
first period and upped it to 4-0'be-
fore the Bells hit the scoreboard
late in the second period.
Geoff Hant _opened the scoring
for the winners with an unassisted
tally. Billy Kline made it -0 with
a goal late in the first period from
Bryce Hann.
In the second period Bryce Hann
made it 3-0 from Trevor Obre and
Geoff Hann made it 4-0, with help
from Geoff Mason.
• Jason Keller got one back for the
,Bcjls, unassisted, with 1:05 left to

The Crunchers came out on the
short end of a 5-3' score against
Parkhill in Parkhill on Saturday.
The first period was scoreless but
Parkhill scored goals off the stick
of Rudy Van Hooydonk and Jay
Truemncr, while Exeter came to
even the score on goals by Billy
Kline unassisted and Jcff Mason
from Geoff Hann and Nathan Hem.
Hann put Exeter on top 3-2 with
an unassisted goal on a full-length
rush early in the third period, but
Parkhill came right back to tie it
up

,The turning point in the game
came after Parkhill and Exeter's at-
tempt to even the score backfired
when they pulled their goalie and
Parkhill picked up an empty -net tal-
ly.
