tie last week.

erals jumped to a 4-0 lead and held

first period, with Laurie Chalmers

Bruce Papple scored in the second

Broncos bounce back
to beat Lambeth, Chatham
EXETER - After. losing .two
games last weekend against Ridge -
town and Forest, the Exeter Bron -
cos bounced back to beat Chatham
and Lambeth. . -
. " The Broncps lost the first playoff
game to Ridgctown 5-1, but arc
. hack in the running for a title by
defeating Chatham 9-1 and Lamb-
cth 4-0.
Against Chatham, the." Broncos
played poorly but still beat a weak
Chat!iam team.
Jeff Sararas paced the attack with•
two goals and three assists. Other
goal scorers were Marty DeBruyn
-and Brent Urlin with two, and Ke-
vin Ross, Ben Guenther and Chris
McDonald with singles. -
Assisting On the goals were:
Chad .Gillillan and Ben Guenther
with three each and Rob_Lynn with •

On Sunday Exctcr played better
than shutout Lambeth 4-0.
DeBruyn lead the Broncos. with
MO' unassisted goals and one as-
sist. Scoring the other goals Were
Brent Urlin and Adam Bern.

Bell Atom
open playoffs
with 5-2 loss
HURON PARK - The Exeter
Bell Atoms hockey team opened
their House League playoffs with a
5-2 loss to Parkhill at the Stephen
Township Arena, last Tuesday
night.
Exeter's Jeff Deblock opened the
scoring just 25 seconds into the
contestwithan unassisted tally.
Parkhill then took the lead with a
pair of goals later in the period.
Matt DcJong tied the game and Tri-
stan Hatfield gave Parkhill the lead
they would never give back.
Josh L,eakey scored the only goal
of the second period to give the
visitors a 3-1 lead and Dejong got
his second early in the third to
make it 4-1.
Exeter got -one back on Jason
Keller's marker, from Ryan Beckett,
mid way in the final period, but
Parkhill's Casey Wall scored the
last goal of the game in the last
minute.
Friday night, the Bells were beat-
en 5-3 by Munccy at the South Hu-
ron Ree Centre.
Scoring for the locals were; Scott
Rowe from Jason Keller, Beckett
from Chris MacDonald and Beckett
unassisted. -

Hockey League action last week.
Chad Monteith opened the scor-
ing for the locals in the first period
with an unassisted goal that would
stand up as the winner.
Both goaltenders shut the door on
the shooters the rest of the way.
Cameron Dougall picked up the
shutout in the net for Exctcr.
The game was fast -paced and
