Michelle Ellison 'EXETER -.OnFriday, the South Huron District High school Hockey Panthers defeated Wingham's FE Madill 8-4 in a league game held•at the South Huron Recreation Cen- tre:. • At. the 7:25 mark, Harden Tinney opened scoring from Rob Taylor and Jeff Chipchase. Taylor then 'potted one at 12:20 from Tinney and Dave O'Connor. - With nine seconds remaining .on the clock in the first period, Steve Lingard put one behind the Mus- tangs' netminde_r from •Jon O'Connor.• Madill managed one goal in the first frame to give the Panthers a 3- 1 advantage .after one period of - play. • Lingard hit the net again in the second period, from Jon O'Connor `and Brian Moir. Jon O'Connor scored two more goals in the period; the first from Moir and Tinney and the second from Lingard and Todd LaPorte. Moir later connected with Lingard and -LaPorte, to give SH their fourth goal of the period. The . Mustangs added one for themselves but the Panthers led 7- 2. •Wingham. got two quick goals in the third frame but late in the period Moir put on more behind Madill's nctmindcr from Jon O'Connor and Lingard to make the final score 8-4 in favour of the locals. After taking a break for exams the Panthers are scheduled to meet Clinton .on February 10. Belle Ringette edge out Huron Park 5-4 EXETER- An exciting game be- tween the'Excter Belles and Huron Park ended in a 5-4 tilt in favour of Exeter when those competitive teams met at the South Huron Rec Centre last Tuesday..
