split
DORCHESTER - The Exeter No-
vice Waxcrs split a pair of Sham-
rock games last -week. On Saturday
they were beaten 4-0 by Belmont in
a playoff game and last Wednesday
they dumped Hensall.4-1.
Belmont scored three times in the
first period and once in the second
period, while Belmont goalie Cam
Maclntyre turned aside all Exeter
shots to record the shutout.
lt was a single -game elimination
playoffs tournament in the A round.
Hensall got on thc board first in
last Wednesday's game, when Brock
Weiss fired one past Joey Bicrling.
David Farquhar tied the game for
Exctcr in the second period, with
help from Jeff MacLean.
Exctcr got three unanswered goals
in the final period to take the win.

EXETER - The Exeter Molting
Hawks won both games this week,
beating Stephen Township 7-2 and
Hensall 14-2.

Stephen scoring three goals, while
Bob Jones added two and Jack
Chipchase and Scott Burton had
singles.

Bombers knock off Lucan
EXETER - The Exctcr Novice
Bombers knocked off Lucan 3-1 in
Lambton-Middlesex League action
at the South Huron Rec. Centre Sat-
urday afternoon. .
Eric Yco got the visitors on the
board first, with a goal at 4:14 of
the first, from Jollcnc Heffernan and
Jeremy O'Shea. .
Exctcr got on the board later that
period, at 9:33, when Michael Wil-
helm scorcd from Joshua Hern.
Exeter then put the game away
with a pair of unassisted, second -
period goals, by Jason Grenicr and
Hcrn.
Tony Eagleson played a good
game in goal for Exctcr and got
credit for the win.

LUCAN - The house round of
the Sun Bowl tournament, spon-
sored by OV, took place at Lucan
Lancs on January 8. All bowlers
with a 210 -or -under average wcrc
invited to enter. Winners were de-
termined by the number of pins
over their own average.

January 15 was the Zone round
for thc Walker's Special Old High
Low Doubles tournament which
has been under way for five weeks.
One pair of bowlers, Tom McLel-
lan and Bob Taylor won with a
+168. They are to be congratulated
as there .were a lot of fine games
bowled during the competition.

The Youth Challenge which is now
under way. 40 young bowlers from
St. Thomas Lanes, Park •n'Bowl-
St. Thomas, Strathroy. and Lucan
Lancs gathered at Lucan Alleys,
January 15. Three bowlers from
Lucan managed "to qualify for the
next round. Sandy Hyde, Chris
Smith and Stephanie Sandison (al-
ternate) will continue thc tourna-
ment on March 12 at thc Plaza
Lanes in London for the Regional
Round.

Mohawks hit mid-season slump, drop second in row
HARRISTON - For the first time
this year, the Exeter Mohawks have
lost two I,^gue games_ in a row.
They got beat 7-6 in Harriston last
Wednesday night and 5-2 by Dur-
ham Huskies at the Rec Centre,
Sunday.

Kraul returns
Last years Mohawk's captain
Randy Kraul has decided to join his
teammates again. General Manager
Bob Rowe said Kraul came to prac-
tice last Tuesday night and told him
that he wanted to play. in last year's
Hardy Cup playdowns Kraul suf-
fered a fractured jaw but Rowc said
that has completely healed.
"Randy is always a good addition
to our club. The way we arc playing
right now, we nccd his typc of en-

Rowe said Kraul was coaching
