The Panthers played two very competitive games but came up unsuccessful in both at- tempts. In round one of the tournament, SH met College Ave., the hosts of the contest. The boys were able to overcome a 15 -point margin and come within three points of catch- ing their opponents. Coach, Den- nis Nielsen felt, "The boys played very well and demonstrated strong character in mounting a comeback in the final quarter of game one." The Panthers narrowly missed a three-point basket on the buzzer to fall to a disappointing 54-51 Toss. The Panthers played another suc- cessful match in their second game of the tournament, against Wood- stock Huron Park. Again SH's competitors challenged them on a 12 -point lead. As before, the Panthers worked to come within one point of Huron Park. Unfortunately., the Panthers were not rewarded for their efforts and were defeated 48-36. On Friday, SH's boys basketball teams travel to Seaforth for exhibi- tion games. Hockey Panthers On Friday, the South Huron Dis- trict High School hockey Panthers claimed an easy 10-1 victory over the Seaforth. Golden Bears in a league game held at the South Hu- ron Recreation Centre. The Panthers dominated play from the opening face-off and out- scored Seaforth 4-0 in the first peri- od. Brian Moir connected with Rob Taylor and Dale Miller to open scoring for the Panther. Dave O'Connor put two behind the Bears' netminder from Tod La- Porte, Harlen Tinney and Jamie Tomes. Alan Blommacrt connected with O'Connor and Tinncy to end the period and leave the Bears be- hind 4-0. Town and Country Bowling ZURICH - The scores for the WENDY JENNISON - 456, G.
