RusseII family celebrates holidays

Christmas on Boxing Day. .At-

Torn, and Rosanne and their fami-
ly spent a few days up' here visit-
ing relatives and friends last week.

The Dells' son Howard, (our
Olympian nephew) is living and
• working in Calgary and training.
with the Canadian bobsled team.
In December, .Howard and his
team mates spent two weeks in Eu-
rope, at World Cup. races in Yugo-
slavia and Austria. The Dells' old-
est son, Clinton, is presently -living
and working in Swcdcn.

Present courses in pesticide safety
CLINTON - Both daytime and
evening courses in pesticide safety
and management arc being offered
to local farmers by the Ontario
A•linistry of Agriculture and Food
beginning this January.
The courses cover all aspects .of
pesticide use, including laws, sai,
handling, and calibration of spray
equipment. These education pro -
grains aoffer benefits 10 both fann-
ers and the public by ensuring that
users of pesticides arc well trained,
and have the safety of.our environ -
'pent, •especially our water supply,
at heart.- .
Local producers can 'register for .•
these .courses through their local,
agri-business, or through the
OMAF office in Clinton. •

attended the inter -Generational
Worship Service in celebration of
the season of Epiphany on Sunday -
morning with Rev. Sheila Macgre-
gor in charge at Elimville United
Church.
- The Affirmation of Faith was
taken from Isaiah 60:1-2 and John
1:1-14 as We responsive reading.
For the children's time, the kin-
• dcrgarten class from Thames Road
sang "This Little Light of Mine"
using lighted candles and doing ac-
tions under the leadership of their
teachers Karen Etherington and
Melonic Miller.
' Bruce Dclbridgc read the first
Scripture Lesson John 1:1-14.
Rcv. Sheila .Macgregor gave a
meditation "The Season of light"
also "A Gospel For The Whole
World" and "Our Mission To The
Nations".
• Marion Cann rcad the second
Scripture Matthew 28:16-20.
Rcv. Sheila gave a meditation
"Do You Really Believe Thc Good
News?" and "Christ is The Light
Of Thc World" which brought a
very impressive Ncw Year's Day
Scrvicc to a close.
