Commissioner H.H.
Graham of the Ontario
Provincial Police announces
that a major effort involving
special patrols is now in
effect throughout OPP
jurisdiction to combat the
drinking driver.
The Christmas slogan of
Ontario police forces is:
"Working Together for a
Safer Holiday."
Commissioner Graham
emphasizes "Saving lives
over the holiday season is
our highest priority."
"Traffic safety is a two-
way street. We can do our
part, but each and every
driver must realize that less
haste, more care and special
Christmas courtesy will
result in a happier holiday
season for all."
M many of our special
patrols as possible will use
roadside breath analysis
devices. A positive reading
on this instrument will result
in prompt police action to rid
the highways of potentially
lethal drivers.
