Dashwood seniors enjoy variety program

Approximately 160 at-
tended Dashwood Seniors
Variety night program.
Those attending came from
Grand Bend, Exeter, Zurich
and the surrounding area
Charles Martene, president,
welcomed everyone and
introduced the various
numbers which consisted of
skits songs, readings, a
kitchen band and jokes. It
was very_ well received and
enjoyed by all.
Lunch and renewed
friendships rounded out the
evening
California visitors
Nancy and Donna Rader,
daughters of George Rader,
California, were visitors in
the area and called on Mrs.

Dashwood Women's
Institute held its Christmas
meeting at Dashwood
community centre Tuesday,
November 27. Members
along with husbands or a
friend sat down to a turkey
dinner. Prizes were given for
a lucky plate, cup and
saucer. The winners were
Mrs. Stuart Wolfe, Mervyn
Tiernan and Mrs. Hilda
Rader. The president, Mrs.
Eben Weigand. welcomed
everyone and conducted a
brief business session. Roll
call was "Childhood
memories of Christmas".
Mrs. Earl Keller gave a
Christmas reading.

Former resident dies
Relatives received word
that Ernest Hutchinson, 85,
passed away in Calgary.
Alberta, November 27. He
was a former resident of
Dashwood.

opening ceremonies for the
MacKay centre for seniors

Hersall and Mr. and Mrs.
Ross Hargreaves attended
the banquet and get-together
for ministers and their wives
at Londesboro United church

McDougall Sunday. The
ladies of the church served
lunch after the service. The
sympathy of the community
is extended to the family.

December 9 at 11.15 a.m.
Sunday School members are
asked to come at 10 a.m.
