IRVIN RADER DASHWOOD Approximately 160 at- tended Dashwood Seniors Variety night program. Those attending came from Grand Bend, Exeter, Zurich and the surrounding area Charles Martene, president, welcomed everyone and introduced the various numbers which consisted of skits songs, readings, a kitchen band and jokes. It was very_ well received and enjoyed by all. W.I. holds party Dashwood Women's Institute held its Christmas meeting at Dashwood community centre Tuesday, November 27. Members along with husbands or a friend sat down to a turkey dinner. Prizes were given for a lucky plate, cup and saucer. The winners were Mrs. Stuart Wolfe, Mervyn Tiernan and Mrs. Hilda Rader. The president, Mrs. Eben Weigand. welcomed everyone and conducted a brief business session. Roll call was "Childhood memories of Christmas". Mrs. Earl Keller gave a Christmas reading. Conveners for the evening. et- tlriik Mrs. Howard Datars and Mrs. Earl Keller were in charge of Court Whist with winners high, Mrs. Harold Schroeder and Irvin Rader; low, Mrs. Eben Weigand and Valentine Becker. Mrs. Ralph Weber, Mrs. Eben Weigand, Mrs. Hilda Rader and Mrs. Valentine Becker were guests of Cloverdale W.I. Parkhill for their meeting on resolutions when Jack Riddell M.P.P. was guest speaker. Former resident dies Relatives received word that Ernest Hutchinson, 85, passed away in Calgary. Alberta, November 27. He was a former resident of Dashwood. Attend opening Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Johns, Exeter, and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Love attended opening ceremonies for the MacKay centre for seniors Wednesday night in Goderich. Mrs, Dorothea Knights, Windsor, was guest speaker and Jack Riddell also attended. Camillia LaRouche, Krrkton, Mrs. Britton, of Hersall and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hargreaves attended the banquet and get-together for ministers and their wives at Londesboro United church Friday evening. Premier Mr. and Mrs. William Roh- de were Saturday supper guests with the former's sister Mrs. Marguerite Gibson, London, and latter visited with Rev. Hugh and Mrs. Wilson, Exeter. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cunnington and family visited Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Romphf in Arkona. Mrs. Helen Caswell and Bobby, London visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Passmore. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ballantyne were Sunday supper guests with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ulch, Russeldale. Mr. and Mrs. William Roh- de visited Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Thomson. Woodham. Many from this com- munity called at the Hopper - Hockey funeral Home, Exeter on the week -end and also attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Agnes McDougall Sunday. The ladies of the church served lunch after the service. The sympathy of the community is extended to the family.
