Mrs. Joyce Thomas of Milverton went over the 1978-79 activities and introduced the new slate of officers for 1979-80; they are: President: Mrs. Frances Greene, 126 Centre St. Stratford, past president: Mrs. Joyce Thomas, Milverton, 1st vice president: Carla Revington, RR 2 Lucan; 2nd vice president: John Devlin, 138 Woods St. Stratford; treasurer: Paul Franck, 20 St. Vincent St. Stratford. Dancing was performed by Maureen and Lucille Price of Easson St. and the guest speaker for the evening was Mrs. Irene McCabe, Stratford, who said that Birthright was founded in 1968 by Mrs. Louise Sum- merville, and that since then hundreds of women have been helped along. Carla Revington thanked and also gave a gift to Mrs. Joyce Thomas for her three years of devoted service as president. HUGH MORENZ SNIPKA Mrs. Elsie Comfort, of Welland, has been visiting in this area with her three daughters, Doris Sweitzer, Marilyn Pickering and Eva Sweitzer, also with her granddaughter Bonnie Erickson who is a patient in St.Joseph'shospital, London. Mrs. Fermon Snyder spent some time last week at her daughter's Suzanne and Otto Plein, Christopher and Melissa, at Elmira. The Russell family who attended the wedding, last Friday, of their nephew and cousin, Greg Russell to Teresa Gagne, at Bethel Gospel Hall, in Cottam, were Cliff and Velma, Tom and Rosanne, Bruce and Judy Donald and Ann. Dinner and reception followed in Knights of Columbus hall, at Essex. Harold and Lucille, Lori, Michael and Michelle Vin- cent, spent the week -end in Saginaw, Michigan with Lucille's aunt and uncle Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bacon. Jack, Bev and Sherri -Lyn Keller spent the week -end with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kirk, of Moorefield. Doug and Ann Russell and family visited Sunday in Stratford, with Ken and Carol Baker and girls. Tony and Sandra Regier, Christopher Heather and Jill, of Detroit spent the American Thanksgiving holiday week -end with Sandra's parents, Ken and Ortha Baker. Cliff and Velma Russell visited Sunday with his father, Walter Russell, at the Leamington nursing home. Several Shipka folks at- tended the funeral of Gerald Godbolt, in Exeter last week.
