Hello Santa' How are you'
Busy. of course. 1 unders-
tand. It's that time of year
again.
You cover a lot of
territory on December 24.
and even with Rudolph to
guide you. I'm sure it's easy
to lose your way
A letter to Santa
I admit 1 telt a little huff-
ed when you missed my
place two years in a row
Last year I didn't even
bother writing to you
Forgive me. Santa. my
judgement was hasty 1
know you didn't intentionally
overlook me Since then.
I've moved and I'll enclose a
map to help you find my new
abode
Recently 1 found a copy of
the letter I wrote to you two
years ago 1 made a terrible
mistake in that letter. ask-
ing for a tot of little things
like staples and paper clips.

little things Forgive me.
Santa; 1 was thoughtless.
This year I'm restricting
my list to one item. Santa.
One-stop shopping will do for
me this year. Just go down
to your nearest auto
dealership and pick me out a
nice new car 1 want the real
thing. Santa. not a toy.
The make, model and
colour 1'll leave up to you.
Surprise me: I'm sure
you're aware of ther impor-
tance of miles per gallon.
There are a few options I'd
like included - power steer-
ing and brakes. automatic
transmission. rear -window
defroster and air con-
ditioning. i It s hard to
believe now. but even t know
a hot summer will follow
this cold winter
Bucket seats with velour
upholstery and carpeted
floor would be super. An
.AM. FM radio and tape deck
is a prerequisite. IA few
tapes would add a thoughtful
touch i Don't forget the
white walls.
I don't have a chimney in
my new apartment. You
won't have to bother making
your traditional entry. Just
park the car outside the
door. 1.11 leave the Tight on.
Perhaps you'd like to take
my old car as a trade in. It's
been a faithful machine: I
feel as though it's time for a
change for me, but I'm sure
you'd find the car would
come in handy for you, in
case you break a runner on
the sleigh or something
If you want a trade-in. 1'11

I don't think you have to
worry about your gift being
duplicated 1 told my sister
and brother-in-law I wanted
a car. but my brother-in-law
was engrossed in a cat food
commercial on TV at the
time and my sister's only
comment was "fat chance'"
Even if 1 did receive two
cars. I could sell one to
finance a trip to Hawaii.
which was my second choice
for Christmas this year
My sister made another
'-fat chance- remark. and
my brother-in-law suggested
a one-way ticket to
somewhere else
1 believe I mentioned the
Hawaii trip to you two years
ago I guess you forgot. but
that's okay. All I really want
this year is a car
Please forgive me for my
doubt and impatience in re-
cent years 1 know I can
count on you in 1979. Santa.
Merry Christmas'
Sincerely yours
Elaine
