newsletter
We received many com-
pliments on the display from
our school at the Exeter
Fair. Our life size clown
which the children had filled
with stuffing drew attention
to their crafts and other
school work. We appreciate
the opportunity that the Fair
Board gives us to exhibit our
work.
Our senior class ac-
companied by Mrs.
MacGregor, Mrs. Jaques
and our volunteer Mrs. Mary
Boyle was able to attend the
Western Fair in London.
They were given a conducted
tour through , the
Agricultural building by .a
guide wl2o talked to them
about th& various animals.
After lunch and a visit
through the Marco Polo
building those who wished
had a ride on the midway.
Our final swimming
session for this term will be
October 24th. All students
have made considerable
prbgress and Susan and
Claudette are now working
off the diving board. We are
grateful forour volunteers
Mrs. Myra Lovell and Mrs.
Ann Klungel who are a great
help with this program.
We now have five students
in each Wednesday- for a
work experience program.
These girls have been
working with our .pupils in
several areas including
crafts, food preparation and
game skills. This past week
the senior room baked rolls
and the junior room made
rainbow cookies.
The arena in Huron Park is
now older the ad-
ministration .of Stephen
Township. Mr. Frank
Funston, the arena
manager, has very kindly
agreed not to charge us the
$25.00 an hour rental fee so
that our students may
continue to have a winter
skating program. We are
very appreciative of this
kindness and look forward to
beginning our sessions on
November 7th.
We are fortunate to have
Mrs. Maxine Hyde come in
each Thursday morning to
work, with our students. So
much more is accomplished
when we has e" this kind of
assistance.
Two very special grade
eight students come in every
day and eat their lunch with
our junior pupils. This the
second year that Karen Snell
and Sandra Glanville have
given us this help.
Miss Mary Kennedy and
Mrs. Sandra Schott have
joined together' in planning
and presenting their first two
lessons. We are very for-
tunate to have the expertise
of these two women and the
students have been most
enthusiastic. Through their,
combined efforts, they have
presented us with music,
filmstrip stories and crafts.
Mrs. Schott wrote a song
especially for us which all of
the children have learned.
The McCut dy - Huron
Hope Schools will be havirig
Open House on Thursday,
October 18 from 7 p.m. to 9
p.m. We hope all of our
pupils will bring their
parents to this event.
October 29 will be a
Professional Activity Day.
Our staff will be attending
sessions at the Victoria Inn
at Stratford. If any parent
wishes to join us f is„

We have been invited to
participate in a swim meet
at Vanastra on November 2.
We will join the Wingham

afternoon of recreation and
fun. More information will
be sent home later.
