It's "rather severe" coach Ron Bogart commented in reference to the rebuilding program he faces this year as he h'as only seven definite starters back from last season. In addition to losing seven play'er's to graduation, Bogart has to replace two more members of last year's squad who have moved on to Junior "B" hockey. Last year's rookie -of -the - year, Brian Mercer, has suited up with St. Marys Lincolns, whilel3ave Bogart, judged the most improved last season, is now playing defence for the Strathroy Blades. <: Both players were members of Exeter's OMHA champion pee wee and The Great 'FIRE ESCAPE SEE THESE NEW 1980 MACHINES .,, NOW IN OUR SHOWROOM Liquifire The cool, trail -wise leader ;)1 'r,<1 r +•. 1 :+. ?. tvr • Spitfire Light on its skis ... lets you throw your weight around INTEREST FREE FINANCING TILL FEB. 1980. ----.`'FICC -E SEEV&AB•(FORE-YOU.,SIGN.ANYtDEAL..-_,., AND WE'II SHOW HOW EASY IT IS TO JOIN THE GREAT FIRE ESCAPE WE'RE VERY BIC ON SERVICE. Ron Bilcke, Preston Dearing and Dave Atthill are the only members of those two championship teams still playing for the Hawks. Joining them from last year's team are Dave Kinsman, Kerry Bedard Ken Varley and Terry Caldwell. Goalie Steve Beer, who sat out last season with a broken leg, attempted a comeback but gave up due to the pressures of school and some aches in his leg. Hensall goalie Steve Sararas appears to have the edge in that department, with Steve Wells and Murray Heywood battling it out for the backup position. Up from last year's midget team are Jeff Fuller. Doug Fletcher, Larry Dawson and Bill Benning. while Cam Haist from Grand Bend has returned as well. Three Hensall pucksters are also battling for positions. They are Larry Consilt, Brian Baker. and Brad Pryde' Dave Cann. Darryl Preszcator and Danny Centennials reach soccer `B' finals Exeter Centennials moved into the B division finals of Ausable district soccer, Sunday. They did it with a pair of shut -outs over Huron Park in games played throughout a stormy mixture of rain, wind and sleet. The Centennials, playing on Park grounds, won 2-0 in a full 90 -minute game. Their second win was one of 1-0 in a 30 -minute mini -game to decide total -point winner of the semi-final series. One that was earlier announced as a total goal affair in a misunderstanding of league ruling. The previous week. Huron Park had beater Exeter 2-1 at Canner's field. Mike Janyu, with two goals this past Sunday, got his first at five minutes of the 90 -minute opener with a slotted pass from midfielder Murray Stewart. Then, at 63 minutes, Gerald Weersink took a relayed ball from centre -half Dick Lord and soloed down the Park's right side to net Exeter's second goal. hi the mini game. Mike Janyu scored again with five minutes gone. This time by tapping in a corner -kick from fullback Al Beattie that overshot Park defenders in their six-yard box. Exeter's wins were con- vincing efforts. Both were built on solid performances by players in every position on the field. The Centennials now enter a best two -of -three final against Lucan. The first match of the final will be at Canner's field. Finals at Hully Gully The final motocross for 1979 is scheduled for this weekend at Hully Gully. rui4 ,of,Yarga,... .
