JOHN ROWCLIFFE Bonnie Lou Campbell and Robert John Rowcliffe were united in marriage on September 8, 1979 at Coven Presbyterian Church Exeter by Rev. Kenneth Knight. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joesph Campbell, Exeter and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Rowcliffe, Hensall. Matron of honour was Borb Ferguson, and bridesmaids were Shoron Campbell, Patti Rowcliffe and Jane Bowerman. Best mon was Kevin Buchanan, and ushers were Bill Consitt, Gory Campbell and David Rowcliffe. After a honeymoon to Niagara Falls, the couple have taken up residence at R.R. 2 Hensall. Exeterwomen have lunch, hear about s ecial camp p Thanksgiving was read followed by hymn "Sing to the Lord of Harvest." A Thanksgiving message was read by Mrs. Ruth Jeffery. The junior choir from Exeter United Church accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Coates sang two of their favourite songs. A film strip "Thanks be to God" followed reminding each and everyone to give thanks for many things, to praise God for the beauty of the earth, for life, memory work, ones we love, sharing with others. Scriptures of Thankfulness were read. The fall evening UCW was held September 10 opening with a enjoyable pot luck supper. Mrs. Vera Armstrong welcomed all ladies back after a busy summer and hoped they were ready to start the fall activities. The roll call was answered. by one enjoyed etent that happened during the sum- mer. Mrs. Armstrong presided for the business. Mrs. Marion Dougall reported that an exhibit for evening unit is being entered in Exeter Fall. Mrs. Elaine Skinner's group was in charge of the devotional. Scripture was read in unison followed by a hymn. Mrs. Flora Doerr in- troduced guest speaker Rev. Forsythe. Rev. and Mrs. Forsythe helped at a single parent and family camp this past summer. A lively discussion followed. Rev. Forsythe also talked on the Vacation Bible School held this past summer at the United Church. This was an experience that proved very successful. Mrs. Elaine Skinner thanked the guest speaker and the meeting was closed with a prayer by Mrs. Barb McLellan. The October evening UC meeting was held in the ladies parlour with a good attendance. Mrs. Harry Dougall welcomed all the ladiesralso guests, members of the junior choir. The theme of the devotional being Thanksgiving a poem Couple wed in Clinton Wesley Willis United Church, Clinton was the scene of a quiet wedding on Friday, September 28, when Susan Maxine Kingma of Exeter was united in marriage to John Thomas Murch also of Exeter. The couple were attended by the bride's twin sister Sandra and her husband Ron Dawe of Exeter.The bride's small son Michael Kingma was ring bearer and a niece of the bride, little Tammy Rohde was flower girl. The wedding music was played by Cathy Potter at the organ. Rev. John Destricher officiated at the double ring ceremony. After a short trip to points east, the couple will reside at 137 Simcoe St. Exeter. Each lady told something they are thankful for. The Lord's Prayer was repeated in unison..A bookcalled Time was read by Marion Dougall. Fern Dougall was in- troduced and showed a few of the lovely crafts she had made up . Ideas for home and bazaar. Vera Armstrong presided for the business thanking Marion Dougall and her group for the Thanksgiving program.• Roll call followed after which Mrs. Marion Dougall and Mrs. Ada Dinney and any others who helped, were thanked and congratulated for entering the UCW entry in Exeter Fall Fair and placing first. Coming events are a wed- ding October 6, fall regional at Elimville October 9 with Mrs. Alma Langford guest speaker in AM, birthday party at Bluewater Nursing Home October 18, general meeting November 26 and bazaar November 17, A delicious lunch was served by Alma Godbolt's group. MR. AND MRS. WILMER FERGUSON Margaret E Forrest and Wilmer J. Ferguson were united in marriage October 6, 1979 at Hensall United Church. Rev. Stan McDonald officiated. The attendants were Mrs. Deanna Brock and Don Ferguson. A family dinner followed at the Ben - miller Inn. Rosemary Meidinger was maid of honour, and bridesmaids were Marilyn Kenda and Brenda DeGroot. Danielle McKinnon and Nicole Beauchampwere flowergirls.
