Pym clan dominate beef show
There were six first place
ribbons at stake when
members of the Exeter 4-H
beef calf club and the feeder
calf club competed at the
local fair, Saturday, and
when judge George Earley
was done, most of those
ribbons ended up going to the
Pym family.
The four children of
Howard and Grace Pym
dominated the two shows for
the second year in a row.
In most of the divisions,
the family members
provided each other with the
stiffest competition for top
placings.
in the 4-1I showmanship
class, Tom Coates won the
red ribbon, although the
judge told the audience that
any of the top six youngsters
in the class were capable of
winning. Four of those six
were members of the Pym
family.
Margaret and Brian
finished in second and third
place respectively, while
Lyle Kinsman picked off
fourth spot and he was
followed by Elaine and Allan
Py 1n.
When it came to con-
firmation, Brian beat out
sister Margaret for top
honors, with Tom Coates
placing third. Following in
fourth and fifth were Elaine
and Allan.
In the senior showmanship
for the feeder calf club,
Elaine took top honors.
