1979 Born in Paris Ontario. the
daughter of the late William
Ballantsne and Justina
McDonald. she came to Fort
William at the age of 4 years. aas
educated in local schools.
graduated from McKellar in
1932 and retir:d from \lcKellar
General Hospital in 1974 after 42
continuous sersice to the
hospital. She had one sear of
general duty. aas head nurse of
Obstetrics from 1933 to 1942.
assistant Director of Nursing
Sen iue 1942-44. and then she set
up the Central Supply Service in
the hospital where she supervised
until she retired. She aas a life
member of the R.N A.O.
solunteer worker at the Cancer
Clinic. member of the Historical
Society, and did volunteer work
at the museum. She was a life
long member of St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church.
