Lorne George Fenner of RR 2 Forest, son of the late Mr. and
Mrs Jay Fenner of Warwick and Miss Dorothy Mae Hatton,
of Shipka daughter of Mr. Herbert Harlton and the late Mrs.
Alberta -Harlton. of Shipka were married ,tuly 14. at
Greenway United Church with Rev Harley Moore. of-
ficiating. The bride was given away by her 96 year old
father Matron of honor was Mrs. Mabel Guenther, Shipka
sister of the bride. bridesmaids were Mrs Leona Moore of
Sarnia and Miss Cheryl Westman of London, neices of the
bride. Best man was Mr Jim Fenner of Camlachie and
ushers were Mr Lonnie Passmore of Forest and Mr. Barry
Westman of London. The• couple returned last Saturday
evening from a wedding trip to Ottawa and northern Ont

sponsorship of more boat people

The three charges of
Thamesview, Kirkton-
Woodham and Thames Road
- Elimville were represented
at a meeting at Fullerton
United Church last Monday
night to discuss sponsoring
at least one family of the
boat people under the
agreement between World
Vision of Canada, (the
United Church) and
Canadian Immigration.
Mr. Gerry Holland of
Stratford who has been
appointed area co-ordinator
explained the situation to us.
Mr. Holland said "Should we
be the next refugees, may we
be well treated!" He said the
matter is urgent because of
the poor conditions in the
camps and storms on the
waters.
The government of Canada
•
will pay plane fare which is
to be paid back in one year.
The sponsoring group is
required to support the
family for a year.
Hopefully they will know
how to speak English and
they will get employment
quickly if it is to be'found.
Requirements are:
Someone to meet the
family upon arrival in your
community.
Atlequat.e food, clothing
and housing as well as
necessary incidentals.
Counselling and orien-
tation to life in Canada.
Advance medical expenses
and paid premiums during
the fir months of the
refugstay in Canada.
Language training
assistance for non -employed
members of the family_.
Assistance in seeking
employment. -

morning.

This coming Sunday.
Centralia and Zion West will
worship together in the
Centralia church with Rev.
Grant Mills as guest
minister in the absence, of
Mr. Schott who is on
vacation. The service will be
at 11 a.m., please note the
change in time.
