the haunting quality of the
1978 production of Gwen-
doline will not want to miss
Mr. Nichol's most recent
offering.
Jaynes Nichol is one of the
rare breed of writers who
make their living exclusively
from writing drama. Among
his more famous works. is
Ste. Marie among the
Hurons, produced by
Theatre London in 1974 and
subsequently by the National
Arts Centre in 1977. Mr
Nichol has written many
television dramas and
screenplays and over forty
radio dramas in addition to
his stage plays.'
Kate Trotter and Sam
Malkin create the roles of the
distraught couple in the
Blyth Summer Festival's
production of "Child". Peter
Snell and Scotia McKenna
complete the cast as friends
of the couple who, try to
comfort then but become
embroiled in a crisis of their
own. James Roy, Artistic
Director of the Festival and
Director '-f Gwendoline in
the 1978 season. directs this
production.
