Right-of-way
GRAND BEND -- A dispute
over the right-of-way in Gibbs
Park came to a head at the regu-
lar meeting of Grand Bend coun-
cil Tuesday night. A letter from
propci(y owner P.E. Nelson stat-
ed thin the right of way was in
the public domain and could
thergiow be used by property
owners on Shady Lane.
Qtloting from a letter sent to
-council earlier by property owner
George Kadlecik, Nelson wrote:
"Evidently Mr. Kadlecik is aware
of thc existence of our right-of-
way, as he quotes in his reply:
'This right-of-way is not for
public' use vehicular or other-
wise, never was and never will
be.' I agree. This right-of-way is
only for the cottage owners on
Shady Lane and since Mr Kadlc
-cik is a property owner, he too
issue raised
has permission to use the right-
of-way."
Kadlecik, attending the meet-
ing as a spectator only, was
asked for clarification of the is-
sue by council. Kadlecik, who
has had numerous run-ins with
Grand Bend council over the past
few months, declined. to shed
light on the situation. Claiming
ownership of the property featur-
ing the right-of-way, Kadlecik
suggested that lawyers of the par-
ties involved be contacted.
When reeve Harold Green dis-
puted Kadlecik's ownership of
the right of way, noting that it
was public property, Kadlecik in-
formed council that he had been
forced to prove their ownership
of the land in question on four
previous occasions and wasn't
about to do it again.
