Dandelion story at Thames Road
By MRS. WILLIAM ROHDE
'THAWS ROAD - Rev. Teddy
Smits was in .charge of Pentecost
Sunday Church Service on- Sunday
morning. The choir sang "Spirit of
God Descend Upon My Heart" ac-
companied by .the organist Miss
Agnes Bray.
Rev. Teddy Smits told the chil-
dren's story "The Dandelion". The
dandelion is a flower with "great cou-
rage. Many people don't like to
have the yellow flower .on their
lawns, and they use expensive exter-
minators to try to eradicate them.
The dandelion teaches us a lesson.
It says Go on even when you re-
ceive blows and shocks. God must
have a hard time with some of His
children. Some say they don't care
for Him. But God keeps pressing on
until we find Him.
In his sermon the Rev. Teddy
Smits had chosen as his text Acts
2:12 "Amazed and perplexed they
asked one another: What docs this
mean?"
The church celebrated the Festival
of Pentecost this weekend. It is the.
coming of the Holy Spirit in the
lives of the disciples. The crowds
who had run out of the homes to
see what went on were amazed. Pe-
ter was preaching with great inspira-
tion, all disciples seemed filled with
fire. They heard them speak in
many languages. And soon they
asked: What docs this mean?
