Richard Anions, and Brinsley minister Clandeboye CLANDEBOYE - The May meet- ing of the Clandeboye Women's In- stitute was held at the home of Mrs. Alan Hill who also was the convener for the program "International Affairs". Seventeen members and one visitor answered the roll call, "A recent world event". Three short videos were shown. "The Florida hay Market", which showed how Ontario hay is sold to buyers in Florida who pay top pric- es for top quality hay. The hay goes to large horse training centres through dealers and is -transported in large trucks that bring a load of fruit and vegetables to Canada, re- turning with a load of hay. Other videos showed "Walnut Farming" with Andy Dixon and "The War Years" 1939-1945 show- ing how Canada rallied from the tough years of the thirties to feed the wartime armies. Marion Hodgson and Irene Lynn reported on the District Annual held inParkhillon May 10. Lunch con- veners Lucille Blake and Edie Worthington assisted the hostess and a social time completed the evening. The final euchre party for the sea- son, was held at St. James Church with eight tables in play. Prize winners_were High Scores - Jessie Lewis and George Cunningham, Lone Hands - Mary Scott and Joan _ Cunningham, Low Scores - Olive Simpson and Gertrude Hodgins, In between scores - Mrs. Nolan and Murray Carter. Centralia by Mrs. Tom Kooy CENTRALIA - We again pass on, our sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Earl, Dietrich and family in the sudden death of Yvonne's brother the late Claude Gelinus of Zurich. Tom and I were • Saturday evening guests with them. Tom and I attended the 125th 4n- nivcrsary services at St. Marys Church Brinsley on Sunday morn- ing. The speaker was Canpn Harvey Parker of Glencoe, a former rector in J947 at Brinslcy, Ailsa Craig and Christ Church McGillivray of which we were former members. A time of fellowship followed in the church basement where many pic- tures and old time clothes were on display. We are happy to report that Rob- ert Lawrence, Huron Park is getting along well following surgery in Victoria Hospital, London and hopes to soon be home. Prize winners at the euchre at Heywoods on May 9 were High score Florence Huffman, Harry Noels, Lone Hands Helen MacDo- nald, Hazel Cunningham, Low score Charlotte Barker, Kay Mor- ley.
