LUCAN - The Lucan Women's
Institute meetingwas held in Opti-
mist Club room with President Ber-
nice Lockyer presiding over the
opening ceremony for 10 members
and one guest.
Four members attended the 85th
District Annual at Parkhill. Each
gave the highlights of the meeting
for her.
There was a display of recycled ar-
ticles = a chairpad made from a
man'sshirt and some net scratch
pads. We discussed making finger
puppets and- children's slippers and
collecting craft items for the Lon -
Jon Children's hospital.
Next year is Middlesex 4-1-1 six-
tieth anniversary to which we may
give a financial contribution.
Convener of International Affairs,
Iva Hord, had a wall display of hap-
py pictures. International jokes pro-
vided much fun. Iva gave a book re-
port, the story of Mother Teresa.

Next we had a quiz to name 25
capital cities of overseas countries.
Bernice Lockyer won it, and re-

another busy week with crafts, nine

bake sale. We are still not sure of
