Jill Kipfer in- troduced the guest speaker Joelle Bleasdale, program coordinator for the ministry of housing. She spoke. on the availability of non- profit housing for this area. Eleven local organizations were each invited to sent two representa- tives to hear the speaker. Informa- tion will be presented to their re- spective groups for discussion. If, enough interest is shown a com- mittee will be elected to form a cooperation to proceed with the project. Lunch was served. The yard sale is scheduled for June 11. Don't forget to save your saleable items. Lutheran Ladies Guild The Lutheran Ladies Guild held their mother and daughter banquet, Tuesday, May 10 with 22 mem- bers and 53 guests sitting down to a delicious pot luck dinner. The toast to the mothers was given by Tammy Restemeyer and to the daughters by Peggy Reste- meyer. Following the meal plants were given: for the youngest daughter present - Amanda Stire; oldest daughter - Gloria Hayter; youngest mother - Tracy Stire; old- est mother - Mrs. Edith Bcierling; mother with the most children Ethel Masse; lucky plate - Elda Koehler. A sing song was led by Karen Gaul on her accordion. Sherrie Wells spoke on "Babysitting". A humorous skit was given by Nancy Rader and Peggy Restemey- er. Vickie Miller gave tribute to all mothers with a solo "Mother". Pastor Larry Stojkovic closed the program with devotions on what the "Perfect Mom" is according to the kids and then according to the Bible. He gave a reading "Someday" closing with prayer where the daughters and mothers responded. The Guild and the Wednesday a.m. Bible class presented a car scat to Pastor Larry and Jill for their new son Joel who was born May 1. Richard Laing is the son of Rev. Barbara Laing, who was the. Dashwood -Zurich United Church minister three years ago.
