Saul, the first king of Is- rael, disobeyed God, so God told him the kingdom would be taken from him. God had promised the kingdom to David, causing Saul to try to kill David. When David heard the Phi- listines were.taking the crops of a city nearby, David received God's blessing to go to help free the city. When Saul -heard of .it, he decided to take the city to kill David. David heard of this, and asked God if the people would turnhim over to Saul. When God warned him they would, David and his men fled to the wilderness. Never assume that it is God's will ,because it seems good to us. When it seemed good to deliver this city, David asked God. God told David to go. When Saul heard David was in the city, Saul assumed this oppor- tunity meant God was going to let him kill David. But Saul did not ask God about it. It was not in God's will. Rev. Roger Mason conducted the Sunday evening service. Pieter Schinkleshoek, assistant pastor, stated people give to, get. From Matthew 6:19-21 he showed earthly treasures are useless as they rust and burn. We work so hard to buy houses, cars, and get money in the bank, but forget to put treasures in heaven. Treasures on earth can be a curse trying to get more. Money will not buy love, joy, peace, or health. God is interested in our heart attitude. There are rich people in the Bible who•put God first. They stored treasures in heav- en. You need heaven's currency. Giving to God's work, and working hard for the Lord builds treasures in heaven. -Send your treasures to heaven with people who are going there. Send your money to help mission- aries. The people they win for the Lord will take your treasures to heaven. Preaching the gospel builds treasure in heaven. When we turn our earthly treasures over to God to use them for His work, we are stor- ing treasures in heaven. When we think we lose out when we give to God's work, we need to remember what Jesus 'said in Matthew 6:31 to 34, that to seek God first, and God will add to us what we need.
