Institute meets at Crediton

The Crediton Women's Institute
held their annual Meeting Wednes-
day, April 20 in the Crediton Com-
munity Hall. The roll call was to
name the year you joined the Insti-
tute.
President Eleanor Roeszler read an
article on the origin of the Mary
Stewart Collect. Mrs. Dolores
Shapton gave a reading on Pennies
for Friendship. Mrs. Lavinia Marti-
net! was welcomed as a new mem-
ber. "
Annual reports were received and

Zion United Church
The sermon at- Zion United
Church was taken from John 20:19-
29 titled "Filled With Joy".
Choir practice will be Wednesday
evening at 8 p.m. in the church
sanctuary.
Special music
The Junior Choir from Stephen
Central School will be providing
special music on Sunday, May 1.
Plan to come and hear them sing.
Personals
In hospital at South Huron, Mr.
Art Baldwin. Mr. Steve Pertschy
spent the weekend at his home with
his family and is returning to St.
Joseph's Hospital, London for sur-
gery. We wish you the best, Steve.
Mrs. John Arlo, Woodham and
Mrs. Stan Preszcator visited Sunday
afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Robert
England and family, Huron Park.
Dennis England is celebrating his
ninth birthday on Monday, April
25.
Mrs. -Lorna Barnes and Jenna and
Ken Wcmham, Thcdford were Sun-
day dinner guests with Mr. and
Mrs. Stan Preszcator. Jenna also
spent Friday with her grandparents.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Grummett,
Cambridge returned home Wednes-
day evening after visiting with Mr.
and Mrs. Stan Preszcator. The four
of us were Tuesday supper guests
with Mr. and Mrs. Harold McCal-
lum, RR 1, Walton. Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Hubley, Seaforth were
evening guests at the McCallum
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hubley and
Mrs. Audrey DcCoo, Scaforth were
Thursday lunch guests with Stan
and me.
On Friday evening at Larry's Re-
staurant an evening of entertain-
ment was enjoyed. Music was by
Doug Lewis, Geraldine Schenk,
Marg and Leroy Walker, Ian Hamil-
ton and friend and Jack Jesney on
the spoons.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Browning
returned home last week end after
spending the winter in Florida.
Crediton Club IV had their third -
meeting on Saturday April 16 at
Lia Snell's. We started the meeting
with the 4-H pledge, the minutes of
the last meeting and the roll call.
At this meeting we discussed
everything about weather (tempera-
ture, clouds, wind and air pressure.)
We talked about injuries, how to
prevent them and how to treat
them.
The next meeting is scheduled for
April 30 at 9:30 a.m. at the Credi-
ton Hall.
Mr. 1.Car1 Ohmayer, Grand Bend
celebrated his 73rd birthday on Sat-
urday with Mr. and Mrs. William
Armstrong and family. Joe Varley
also visited with the Armstrongs.
Karl's birthday was. on Sunday,
April 24.

A large member of Women Insti-
tute members, husbands and friends
attended the 85th anniversary of the
Huron South.District Women's In-
stitute celebration at Seaforth Com-
munity Centre on Tuesday even-
ing.
Following a delicious dinner eve-
ryone enjoyed the guest speaker,
Mr.. Carl Hicbert, who flew an ul-
tra -light plane from the east coast
to Expo in B.C.. in 1986. He
showed slides he had taken as he
flew across Canada.
Cliff Jaques and LaVerne Rodd
and Marjorie Johns entertained with
several musical numbers.
Annual Lodge service
The Exeter Independent Order of:
Oddfellows and Rebekahs held their
annual church service at Elimville.
The -color bearers were John Batten
and Aldeen Skinner.
Reading the scripture lessons
were Leona Hern, Ray Cann and -
Danny Smith. Marlene Mashers,
Eric Kints and Ray Cann supplied
