Thames Road UC to dedicate
By MRS. WILLIAM ROHDE
The fourth Sunday after Easter
Church Service was in the charge of
Rev. Teddy Smits on Sunday morn-
lnThe choir sang "Be Still My
Soul" accompanied by the organist
Miss Agnes Bray. Rev. Teddy
Smits told the children a story.
Jeff Rowe read the Scripture Dan-
iel 5:1-16, 22-31 and Jayne Rowe
read St. Mark 11:15-19. They also
received the offering.
In his sermon the Rev. Teddy
Smits spoke about the mysterious
words written on the palace wall of
Babylonian King Belshazzar from
Daniel 5:5. "Man can never get
away with the neglect of those
things which are holy in the eyes of
God."
We cannot tread on Holy Ground,
even when many try. Government
leaders try to open stores on Sun-
day, sports fans try to ignore the sa-
credness of the Sunday, But in the
end we are the losers.
The flowers in the church on
Sunday were placed there in memo-
ry of the late Irene Pepper.
Next Sunday may 1 at 11:15 a.m.
will dedicate the fans and clock in
memory of the late Gary Cottle.
The United Church Women will
hold their meeting on Monday May
2 at 8 p.m.
