Sunday morning at 4:30 a.m.
Rcv. Wheeler held Iloly Commun-
ion service at St. Patrick's church
assisted by a student minister who
preached the sermon, taking her text
from the Scripture readings for the
day.
Nadine Bedell read the lessons and
Mary Davis played the piano for the
hymns.
Service next Sunday is planned
for 11 a.m. when the Sunday
School children are hosting the cof-
fee hour following the service. The
offering taken at this time' will go
!to the hunger fund.
Personals
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Noels, Mrs.
-Helen MacDonald, Lucan, Mrs. Lil-
lian Brindley, London and Mary Da-
vis were dinner guests Monday with
Jack Dickins, Exeter.
Tuesday evening Mrs. Tom Kooy
was hostess for the A.C.W. April
meeting. Rose Cunningham, presi-
dent, opened the meeting with the
members prayer, Suzanne Davis and -
Marguerite Greenlee rcad other
prayers, Nadine Bedell and Mary
Jefferies read the Scripture lessons.
Rev. Beverly Wheeler read the med-
itation from the Anglican Maga-
zine.
Mary Jefferies read the minutes of
the March meeting. Nadine Bedell
gave a report on the two dessert
euchres held the past month and
conducted a contest, in which each
answer contained the word Jack.
Voyle Jordan had the most correct
answers.
The May meeting is planned with
Rose Cunningham as hostess. The
roll call to be answered with a"verse
for Mother's Day. The. roll call was
answered with a verse for spring and
the dues were collected. There were

roll was down from Cie Exeter Vil-
la.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Davis,
Mr. and Mrs. Ron Carroll and Mr.
and Mrs. Hugh Davis from this area
attended a 40th wedding anniversary
for Mr. and Mrs. Donald Abbott,
Manitoulin, at the Varna Commu-
nity Centre Saturday. The Abbotts
were formerly off the 4th conces-
sion of Biddulph. Congratulations.
Marlis Quinton, Helen Johnston,
Diane Champion and Barb Cuth-
bert, London and Hazel Davis called
on Mr. and Mrs. Bob MacGillivray,
Courtney, Katie Scarlett, Caleb and
Corbin on Wednesday evening.
This was the first time the London
ladies had visited the MacGillivrays
since the birth of the twins five_
monthsago.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob MacGillivray;
and children were lunch guests with
their grandmother Mary Davis Sun-
day.
Mrs. Mabel Needham was noon
guest with Voyte Jordan Sunday.
Little Missies;Sarah and Jeanette
Walker, Centralia, spent the week-
end with Crystal Davis;
On Tuesday' at noon Mary Davis
entertained Mr. and Mrs. Noble
Ward and Voyle Jordan to dinner.
Graduation at Ch•
ristianview Bible College
President Dr. G.H. Nunn opened
the evening service in greeting all
who came to the graduation servic-
es. Evert Gagnon, former pastor of
Lucan Revival Centre, opened with
prayer. Rev. John Brookes led the
hymn Singing.
Rev. Walter Gamble, Governing
Board chairman, from the scholar-
ship fund in tribute to Timothy
Nunn, presented scholarships of
$120.00 towards next year's tuition
to: Mr. Verle Bend for Christian
character; to Mr. Paul Carey for his
achievement in youth ministry; to
Mr. Mark Vascherez for academic
achievement. "
Seniors extend -
birthday greetings
Lucan Seniors and Busy Buddies
met in the Scout Hall opening with
the singing of "0 Canada" accom-
panied by Mary Kooy at the piano.
Minutes of the previous meeting
were rcad and approved.
The Zinns were welcomed home
from thcir winter in the south.
Birthday greetings were extended
to Ed Armstrong. Marian Noels re-
ported she had purchased a .case of
' styrofoam cups.
The president announced a dessert
and "coffee meeting of Helping
Hands to be held at 1:00 p.m. Wed-
nesday April 20, :1988.

seconded by Harry Noels that we
send a cheque for $25;00 to the can-
cer fund.

Harry Noels spoke on the Seniors
Games and some a discussion fol-
lowed. -
Myrna O'Niicl gave a -reading "If
God Went On Strike" and several
other short comic readings which
we all enjoyed.
There was a vote of thanks given
the Jim Davis's for their .work on
our shuffleboard.

Graduating student Tony Abbott
was the valedictorian. Abbott start-
ed at Christianview Bible College
at 17. During the four. years at the
College tie has gained many friends .
and best of all a wife. .

Certificates to the students who had .
c..:ned them. Mrs. Linnette Abbott
sang Holy Fire.
Di. Nunn asked graduating stu-

ey for sports equipment, and for
missions work. The students raised

evening were Stewart Munro win-
ning twice, Art Wilkinson, Shirley
Middleton and Roland Turgeon. Ex-

son.

of Ontario (FWIO) to select waste

for 1988.
To focus on this topic, FWIO has
organized a Leadership Develop-
ment Conference which will be held
at Queens' University, Kingston
from May 13-15 with the theme
"Educate/Initiate".
Attending the Conference will be
women from across the province

Rev.. Roger Mason called John
and Lorraine Armitage to present
them with a 25th anniversary gift
of a silver rotating clock in appreci-
ation for their service and faithful-
ness in the church.
Rev. Mason ministered from
Mark 15:6-15..Pilate, the Roman
governor, was faced with the deci-
sion of what to do with Jesus. Pi-
late tried to get Jesus released, but
he went with the public opinion to
crucify Jesus. Almost always the
