On November 1, 1985 at ap-
proximately 11:30 p.m. a Goder-
ich woman left her residence in
her nightgown to place the gar-
bage in the trashcan at the side of
her house. When she turned the
corner she was confronted by a
man. She tumed to run but was
grabbed from behind. Both she
and her attacker fell to the ground.
The woman managed to fight off
her attacker and get into her house
and lock the door. He left running
through backyards.
The suspect is described as
male, white, 5'8" to 5,10", 160 lbs
with brown collar -length hair,
wearing blue jeans and a dark
waist -length jacket.

Hensall teams
both champs
The Hensall Atoms Hockey train
travelled to Durham on Monday
April 4 to play against the team
from Listowel for the western Onta-
rio House League Grand Champion-
ship and came home winners after
defeating Listowel 6-3 in overtime.
In the first period Listowel took
an early lead with the first goal.
Raymond Bicrling tied the game as-
sisted by Dan Taylor. Hensall's
Ncil Atchison came up with the
puck and scored from the blue line
assisted by Blair Moir to put Hen-
sall in the lead 2-1.
The end of the second period
showed Listowel in the lead at 3-2.
In the third period Mark Cooper
scored a third shot for Hensall as-
sisted by Shawn Lovell and three
periods were ended with a tie. Hen-
sall had a sudden spurt of energy
during the ten minute overtime per-
iod, scoring three goals in a matter
of minutes. The first of these which
ended as the winning goal was
scored by Jamie Brock assisted by
Ryan Imansc and Chris Taylor. The
fifth goal was put in by Raymond
Bicrling assisted by Chris Donahue
and Blair Moir and the sixth and fi-
nal goal was by Blair Moir with
help from Chris Donahue and Ray
Bicrling.
The game ended with a 6-3 victo-
ry for Hensall as grand champions.
The Hensall Peewees travelled to
Durham last weekendltnd also came
home Champs. Hensall defeated
Mildmay in a tough game with
Hensall's goals scored by Derek
Campbell assisted by Dennis
Mount and David Stephens, Mi-
chael Hayter got the winning goal
with help from Kevin Mount and
Greg Dalrymple. Final Score was
2-1 for Hensall.

hipkaby Mrs. Hugh Morenz
This community was saddened by
the death, last Wednesday, of Mil-
ton Swcitzer. He was a lifelong res-
ident, being born, raised and lived
here all his life. Survived by his
wife Eva (Comfort) Sweitzer,
daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and
James Campbell, and granddaugh-
ters Kim and Kelly, of Exeter, two
sisters Mrs. Verne Sharpe, of Park-
hill, and Mrs. Nola Evans, Lamb-
eth. Predeceased by a brother, Stuart
Swcitzer in 1976.
Funeral service was held Saturday
from T. Harry Hoffman Funeral
Home, with Rev. Brian Elder offi-
ciating. Interment at Crediton Ce-
metery.
Pallbearers were six nephews,
Greg Brady, Harry Comfort, James
Prisciak, Paul Anger, Scott Sweit-
zer and,Terry Pickering.
The annual meeting of school
members was held -last Wednesday
night at Shipka Community Centre
with 15 attending.
The same officers elected last year
will be staying on for this year as
follows: President Bill Finkbeincr,
Vice President Ross Pickering, Sec-
retary Diane Finkbciner, Treasurer
Bonnie Erickson. Trustees are Rus-
sell Mellin, Bruce Russell and Fred
Gibson.
A 50-50 draw will be held again
this year. Tickets are available from
members this month. The draw will
be held at the Shipka Community
picnic to be held July 13. It was_de-
cided to sponsor euchre parties again
this year, beginning in November.

spent Easter weekend with Heather
Love in Wawa.
Harold and Lucille Vincent and
Michelle spent Easter weekend in
Evart, Michigan, visiting Lucille's
sister's, Janet and Bruce Navarre,
and Beverley and Horst Kovitzki.
Jim and Lenore Orr arrived home
last week after wintering in the
south.
Hugh and 1 visited Oscar and Lau-
ra Miller, Friday evening, and en-
joyed a few solo games with them.
A number from this area attended
the Easter Ecumenical held last
Thursday night at Immaculate Heart
of Mary Catholic Church, and host-
ed by the Catholic Womens League.
Other churches participating were
Church of God, St. John's by the
Lake Anglican, Greenway and Grand
Bend United Churches.
Special music were solos by Mil-
lie Desjardine and Roberta Walker
accompanied by Paul Dietrich at or-
gan.
Guest speaker was Father Paul
Beck. Refreshments and social time
wcrc held at the Alhambra Hall.
Dashwood Band
seeks recruits
The Dashwood Scaforth Brass
Band began practice April 10 at the
Scaforth Town Hall. Eighteen
members wcrc present and it is
hoped new members will be recruit -
cd.
The band director is Harry Hoff-
man and musicians arc invited to
contact him or Melvin Stade 237-
3254 or Bruce Cann 235-1761 for
details of joining and the next prac-
tice.
The Dashwood Scaforth Band is
enjoyed at the many parades held
throughout Huron County and
many surrounding counties.
