Exeter Optimist club president Tom Bowen said Monday night, " We hope to sce everyone next year at the "bigger yet" and "better yet" fourth annual show. Club and show secretary -treasurer Mark Heimrich said total atten- . dance for the three-day show was over the 5,000 mark. This is an in- crease of about 30 percent. Visitors practically broke down the doors to get in Friday night. About the Friday night enthusias- tic crowd, Hcimrich said, " We were going to wait for the official opening with mayor Bruce Shaw at 7 p.m., but we couldn't keep the people bottled up any longer and opened the gates about 20 minutes early." Heimrich continued, " Saturday's pace was busy, yet steady and ex- hibitors found this a relief as they had more time to talk with individ- uals concerning their particular problems. or requirements. He went on, " Many people commented to me that they were pleased with the great variety of ter IMIsr 4?/ 'P N A ? exhibits and quality of produc and services displayed. Heimrich concluded, " We Opti- mists along with the community recipients of funds earned through this venture offer special thanks once again to Optimist Dirk Cool - man, the founder of the Extcr Opti- mists .Home and Garden Show." One final word from Heimrich," It was a lot of fun for two bucks." President Tom Bowen issued his thanks to the Boy Scouts who helped with odd jobs and as run- ners, the exhibitors for their excel- lent displays and for cleaning out quickly . Thco's Food Market, RR2 Centralia, entered a guilty plea to selling margcrine that did not comply with Ontario standards. In January 1987, two inspectors had found 12 one -pound and three .four -kilogram tubs of margarine for sale that, when tested, proved to be in the colour range reserved for butter. The proprietor had been unaware of the regulations. • Wedlakc imposed a fine of $53.75. The margarine was for- feited to the Crown. BUY DAFFODILS - Exeter OPP Sgt.
