contribute as a working ohsei ver
by assisting in the execution of
task that you would like more
experience in.
A myriad of homeowner's and
do-it-yourself manuals is also
available to offer step-by-step
guidance and instructions. A vast
array of builder's plans can_help
the aspiring carpenter to master
the creation of anything 'from a
simple shelf or table, to an out-
door deck or an impressive cus-
tomized entertainment center.
When planning home im-
provement projects, keep in
mind that other family members
can also contribute to a job well
done. Involving children as you
work around the house will pro-
vide them with valuable experi-
ence and a sense of satisfaction -
al.d it will provide you with ex-
tra hands to help paint or hand
over tools.
Evca young children can be in -
eluded. A nine-year-old may not
be able to reach high enough to
wash windows but, when storm
windows arc removed, he or she
easily can learn to brush off ex-
cess dirt or, if balancing On a •
stool poses no problem, he or
she can wash windows while an
adolescent sibling carries storm
windows to the basement for
storage.
Joining in a cooperative effort
and accomplishing the desired
goal will give everyone a feeling
of pride and satisfaction.
And, best of all, the outcome
of your projects will bring tangi-
ble results in the form of home
improvetncnt!
