Zion UCW entertains other groups
Zion U.C.W. entertained ladies
from ElirnviIIe, Centralia, Thames
road, Woodham and Kirkton
U.C.W. groups and Kirkton
A.C.W., on Wednesday March 30
for their Holy Week service.
The program consisted on a skit
"What does Easter mean to
you?",Easter readings by several
Zion U.C.W. members, solo by
Margaret Bern accompanied by her
mother Marjorie Johns.
Greetings from Huron -Perth pres-
byterial were brought by Marion
Dearing and an Easter message was
brought by the Rev. Deborah Car-
ter.
Rev. Carter talked about the
women at the cross at the time of
Jesus crucifixion and how the wom-
en disciples of Jesus' time were role
models for Christian women in to-
day's society.
At Ziori West United Church, the
Granton by Mrs. E. Summers
Good Friday Service was held at
St. Thomas Anglican Church at 7
p.m. with Rev. Beverley Anne
Wheeler as the reader.
Many members of the congrega-
tion took part in a play taken from
the Gospel of John chapters 18 and
19 which followed Jesus and his
disciples through the arrest, trial
and crucifixion.

At St. Thomas Anglican Church,
Rev. Beverley Anne Wheeler was in
charge of the Easter Sunday Service
which was held at 11 a.m., assisted
by Kayleen Roloston as server.
-._John Herbert was crucifer. Linda
Hodgins praised the clay with a solo
"Was it a Morning Like This?"
Roy Moore read the two lessons.
Rev. Wheeler in her sermon
spoke of the disciples already there
to see Jesus after Ile arose that
morning. even though God has ex-
plained in Genesis "No one may see
His face". She also pointed out that
we all may sec God's love in the
face of a newborn child or a loved
one.

Parkhill grant
Ontario Environment Minister
Jim Bradley and Doug Reycraft,
MPP for Middlesex, announced to-
day that grant funds totalling
537,0(X) have been authorized for
the 1988/89 fiscal year for construc-
tion of continuous chemical feed fa-
cilities at. the sewage treatment la-
goon in the town of Parkhill.
The total estimated cost of the
project is S50,00() and it is expected
that the ministry's grant contribu-
tion will be about S41,000.

Wayne and Joan Beierling and
family hosted a family dinner on
Easter Sunday. Members of the
family came from Kitchener, Lon-

Hensall. There were 22 people in
