at Centralia College
For profit or just for the joy of it,
local interest in beekeeping is ris-
ing. With the beginner apiarist in
mind, Centralia College is offering
a summer short course comprised of
m'- thly meetings starting the end
t' .pril. Like most tasks, once you
k.lOw the how to's, beekeeping 'can
be a great hobby.
Taught by Robert Traut, the in-
troductory beckccping course pro-
vides a full explanation about esta-
blishing honey bee hives and
maintaining a healthy environment
for honey production. Meetings are
scheduled to coincide with the care
requirements of honey bees. For in-
stance, later in the summer topics
include extraction of honey, quality

A preregistration fee of S50.00
per person covers four meetings of
instruction and demonstration plus
handouts.

Open house at
Cook's in Walton
To. better serve Walton arca farm-
crs, a new 600 tonne fertilizer
blending facility including related
application. equipment is being
constructed by Cook's in Walton.
It is to be operational by April 4;
1988. Open House is Thursday,
April-?
Equipped with the innovative
ribbon style blending unit, Nitro-
gen, Phosphorous, Potassium and
all .miconutricnt fertilizers are
quickly and accurately blended to
specific requirements at the rate of
50 tonnes per hour. The new facili-
ty will also allow the blending of
fenilizcr and seed for airflow appli-
cation.
To ensure timely fertilizer deliv-
ery and application, the expansion
will include a Loral -Model 1600
Airflow unit and a 16 metric tonne
delivery unit.
• This new Dry fertilizer blending
facility with its accompanying ser-
vices will further complement the
Liquid storage and application
equipment already located at
Cook's in Walton.
