Easter egg hunt -
A very successful Easter- event
was _held for the children ar the
Lambton Heritage Museum Inst
Saturday morning from 11 a.nt. to-
-1 p.m. About 260 adults and .nearly
500 children took part in the annual
Easter Egg hunt and all -the gaines.
A large Easter bunny and a huge
chicken (real identities unknown ca-
vorted and entertained the children
and there wcrc Tots of doorprizes to
be won by.thc kids. .
Thcrc was some dri-rzte during the -
evcnt but it didn't seem to dampen
anyone's spirits. .
Many thanks to the Port Franks
Optimists who sponsored this.annu-
al affair which brings such delights
to so many local children. •

On champion curling team
Paul Kacntpi', 20, a resident of
RR #2, Grand Bend, was feeling
very .proud last week. Kacmpf and
his three teammates, skip Bob
Armstrong, Forest, Dan Durst,
Goderich, and . Curtis Cassidy,
Thunder Bay. won .the Canadian.
College Curling Championship.
All four attend Fanshawe College
in London.
Kaemph, a -marketing . student,
said the team defeated seven differ-
ent teams from other provinces for
the win. After qualifying for the
Canadian, the team had to win the
regionals and then tate provincials.
• he said that the Ontario team played
well and will- surely be defending
their title next year. Three of the
four winners will be returning to
Fanshawc next season. Congratula-
tions, Paul!

Five girls from the Grand Bend
Girl Guides are going down to the
Arkona Guide Company to work an
thcir Citizenship Badge, toward
earning their All Round Cord.
The Girl Guides and Brownies
will be going around soon to get
pledges for the Ladies Great Ride for
Cancer at the Pinery Park on April
24, at 1 p.m. Pledge sheets will
also be available at Mr. Mugs and
Bcst's Ice Cream. The Guide cookie
salt Campaign will be getting under-.
way in the latter part of -April. Also
during April, the arca Cubs and
Scouts will be planting trees for
Canada.

I fappy Easter to everyone, and it
was, on the whole, a pretty good
weekend, warm and even sunny at
times. That brought more people
out .to the 'Bend to see what the
shops have in store for the new sea-
son. Merry Rags has been open al-
ready a few weeks; new merchandise

The Community mourns the loss
of Ken McCrae who has lived in
Dashwood for 47 'years. He was a
.veteran bf World War II serving
from 1943-46. Ile was a great ball
enthusiast, coach of Dashwood Ti-
gers O.B.A. Intermediate 'D'
Champions 1953, coach of girls
softball team, also, minor baseball
teams in Dashwood.

Ile was a former member of
Dashwood volunteer firemen, val-
ued member of Dashwood United
Church and was employed at Dash-
wood Industries until he was 59 and
took early retirement due to ill
-health. Ken fought a courageous
fight until the end. -

Farmer Bill Rammeloos' Flower
Shop will be moving location to
the Village Market yard and craft
supply store, near the Image Dry
Cleaners, right after Mother's Day.
In the meantime, they are fully
stocked for spring, with fresh flow-
ers, plants or silk arrangements for
cottage country. •
April is Cancer month, so the
volunteers will soon be knocking
on your door - please' be generous.
May is Flowers of Hope month, to
collect for the handicapped of the
community. The Captain's Buffet
Dinner will be held on April 13 at
7 p.m. in the ARC Industries cafe-
teria, to kick off the campaign. Ma-
terials will be distributed for the
volunteers.
Visitors arc welcome to the Gold-
en Age Club meeting today on
April 6 at 1:30 p.rn. held at St.
John's Anglican hall. The guest
speaker will be Trish Daubs, who
will be speaking on services availa-
ble in Lambton County.
The Grand Bend Concert Associa-
tion has just received word that the
Quatro Foix Sax will be unable to
make the April 6 concert at the
Grand Bend United Church. A trio,
also from Youth and Music Canada,
has been scheduled for their replace-
ment, including Robert Kortgoaard,
a pianist, Cynthia Stcljes on oboe,
and Peter Lutek on bassoon. It
promisci to be a beautiful evening
of music.
Winners of the meat raffle held at
the Grand Bend Legion last Thurs-
day were Dave Froybister, Mary
Waugh, Tom Humphries, Delight
Rath and Brian Hitchcock. Door
prize winners were Remi Von
Pruct, Judy Roane and Bob Simp-
son. ,
There will be a general meeting
for all legion members on April -11,
Monday at 8 p.m., for the election
of officers, at 8 p.m. sharp. Every-
