By MARGARET HOGGARTH Kippen East enjoyed a very inter- esting and lively evening on Wed- nesday, March 16 when they met in the lounge of Northcrest Apart- ments in Hensall for a cultural ac- tivities evening. There were 11 members and eight guests present. The room had been fittingly -deco- rated for St. Patrick's Day by one of the guests Babe McGregor, she was thanked by the hostess, Hilda Payne. President Grace Drummond wel- comed everyone and read "The Leg- end of the Shamrock". Roll call was answered by members and some guests modelling antique jewellery and watches ranging from 32 to 129 years old, many of which had been passed on from rel- atives. The convener for the cultural ac- tivities committee, Helen MacL- ean, presented the motto "Tc handle yourself use your head; to handle others use your heart" Helen summed up her motto with one word "Tact". -Helen then introduced Council Briefs Councillor Morley Hall will rep- resent Exeter on a committee with one member each from the town- ships of Usborne and Blanshard to decide on the method to be used to appoint a joint member on the Aus- able Bayfield Conservation Authori- ty. Exeter's current representative Erviii Siliery will also participate. Beginning in January of 1989, Authority membership is being re- duced from 34 to 15 creating the ne- cessity for joint representation.
