New Magnum series
tractors of the future
The new Magnum series tractors
are expected to be the highlight for
1988 at Becker Farm Equipment
with two Casc IH farm equipment
locations at Exeter and Dashwood.
Bob Bcckcr, the company's vice-
president and in charge of the Exet-
er dealership looks forward to a
good year and adds, The Mag-
num is the tractor of the future fea-
turing an Electronic Intelligence
Centre and a new generation en-
gine.” "
Becker added, " This is a strong-
er, more fuel efficient engine, but
lighter in weight than the older
models. The Magnum is manufac-
tured in four models with horse-
power ranging from 130 to 195."
While the Magnum series was
unveiled in Denver, Colorado in
August of 1987, they are just now
arriving in,Ontario. •
One of the first in this arca to
purchase a Magnum 195 horse-
power tractor from Becker's was
Hay township reeve Lionel Wilder.
While prospects for farm ma-
chinery sales look good for 1988,
Becker Says there is caution in the
forecast. Hc continued, " There
should be a real upturn in 1989.
Commodity prices arc turning
around and the farm debt situation
is getting under control which
should improve the situation by
next year."
Becker Farm Equipment will be
participating in the upcoming Ex-
ctcr Optimists home and garden
show with an interesting display
on lawn and garden equipment.
Becker's annual Super Clinic
will be held March 25 featuring
Nardi sprayers and Case 11-1 prod-
ucts.
Renovations arc now underway
at the Exeter dealership .tore as
Becker's strive to improve the qual-
ity of service to their customers.
The goal of providing extra train-
ing for employees is continuing as
14 man days have already been
spent in this regard in 1988.
Becker's have recently spent
S1(X),000 in computer equipment
to keep up with technology and re-
quirements. The Dashwood and Ex-
eter dealerships are on-line with
each other and the parts depot in
Toronto.
Bill Bcckcr is company president
and in charge of the Dashwood op-
eration where Joc Bcckcr is in
charge of parts, Kathy Keller is in
the office and Adrian Brand is the
mechanic.
At the Exeter dealership, the
parts deparunent includes Ed Skin-
ner, Roy Stover and Arnie Martin,
account•tnt Peter Czypyha and Jan
Barry staff the office, Bract Murray
is the service manager and mechan-
ics arc Gilbert Brand, Joc Lacey,
Wayne Dcnommc, Paul Taziar and
Richard Et,crt. John Becker is in
charge or transportation.
Becker's salesman Stu McLellan
was instrumental in the dealership's
rating of number two in 1987
sales volume including 12 South-
western Ontario Casc I1-1 dealers.
