Brian Elder was chairman for the meeting and Harry Schroeder was recording secretary. Choir practice will be Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. in the Sunday School rooms. In hospital at London University Ladies Guild at Dashwood meets By BERNICE BOYLE The Zion. Lutheran Ladies Guild met Tuesday, February 9 with 19 members present. Mrs. Jill Stoj- kovic was in c"arge of the opening devotion. President Nancy Rader held a bricf business meeting. They made a motion to send a donation to the Lutheran Bible Translators. Names of shut-ins were passed out with each member having to visit one shut-in for the month. Later in the evening a game was .played and a special lunch was served whichincluded a birthday cake for Jill Stojkovic. Altar Guild for February: Mrs. Elda Koehler and Mrs. Ninia Kraft. Every member would be included as part of the visiting committee. All ladies were encouraged to at- tend the Lenten mid -week services under the theme "People below the Cross". UCW meet The Calvary United Church Women held their meeting Tuesday February 9 with 20 members read- ing the opening scripture I Corin- thians Chapter 13. President Karen Ticman opened •vith prayer and the theme carried thr>ughout the whole meeting was "Love". Karen Tie - man, Charlene Ec',vards and Maida Gaiscr attended ill?, annual meeting in Clinton and an executive meeting ` in Sebringville. March 4 the World Day of Prayer will he held in Grand Bend United Church. Church in Society Convener Eliz- abeth Hendrick asked Bernice Boyle and Jane Newman to read various stories and pticros on Love. A trio consisting of Marion Rader, Shirley, Tiernan and Bernice Boyle sang! "Thc Way Ile Loves", accompanied by Idella Gabel on the piano and they closed the'meeting with "When You. Pray". Euchre Last Wednesday euchre held at the Community Centre had seven tables, prizes given to Greta Reste- maycr, high lady; Dorothy Mitch- ell, low lady.
