sponse in Exeter to date is "equally
as good as last year".
March 1 deadline set
A deadline of March 1 has been
set for donations to the Bill Batten
Memorial fund.
Town of Exeter office staff who
are co-ordinating the fund raising
campaign to honour the former edi-
tor of the Times Advocate report
donations are S 1,650 to date.

Icy roads contributed to a number
of accidents in Exeter last week.
An unknown vehicle northbound
on Main St. on February 7 lost
control and slid into a speed sign,
causing $50 damage to the sign.
A vehicle owned by Lor Don
Ltd., London was struck by an un-
known vehicle on February 8 when
left unauended at the Nabisco Park-
ing Lot. Damage was estimated at
$300.
Susan Coates, Centralia, was
northbound on Main St. when her
vehicle stalled and slid into the No
Left Turn sign at the Canadian Tire
parking lot. Damage was S50.

the Exeter Minor Hockey Associa-

A two -car collision occurred the
same day at the South Huron and
District High Schpol parking lot.
Brian; Moir, Hensall was backing up
and struck a vehicle driven by Ste-
ven Anderson, Exeter. Total dam-
age was $500.
Another two -car collision took
place at Main St. and Huron on
February 11. A vehicle driven by
Jon Dinney, Exeter was stopped in
traffic when it was struck by a vehi-
cle driven by Steven Selugs of St.
Marys. Both vehicles were south-
bound on Main St. Damage was
$175.
Two vehicles collided at the same
location the following day. A vehi-
cle driven by Francesco Cucinelli
Kincardine, slid on snow and struck
the vehicle of Charles Lipp, Lon-
don, who was stopped for the traffic
light. Damage was $175.
During the week, five charges
were laid under the Highway Traffic
Act, and one under the Liquor Li-
cence Act

Hearings set for severances, zoning
The town of Exeter commiuee of
adjustment has set Wednesday,
March 9 as the date to consider a
number of severance applications
and one zoning bylaw amendment.
Landrush Inc. has requested con-
sent to sever property located at
130 Thames Road East.
This land severance would enable
the creation of a single industrial
lot having dimensions of 154 feet
frontage and 350 feet in depth. The
subject lands are presently vacant.
Applications for Stoney Ridge
Developments Inc. for three land
severances and a zoning amend-
ment bylaw were received for com-
pany property located at 108 Sim-
coe street.
According to a letter from solici-
tor K.I. McLean, it is the intention
of the developer to create five separ-
ate units with ownership fronting
on Edward street for each unit with
a right-of-way over the the other
parking and driving area on Edward
street.
The zoning bylaw change is re-
quested for the express purpose of
allowing a new residential designa-
tion to allow five dwelling units.
