Exeter shuffleboard
Delmar Skinner led the pack in
five games of mixed shuffleboard
action Wednesday afternoon,
(Jan. 13), scoring 320 and nar-
rowly edging out Howard Johns
who notched 302.
In third place was Leona Hern
with 301. She was followed by
Beatrice Richardson with 286.
In four games, Charles Tindall
captured high score with 351,
beating out Anita Hunter who
held second spot with 301. La-
verne Stone, 296 and Harold Da-
vis, 287 followed.
Thursday, (Jan. 14) Wilma Da-
vis turned in a score of 444 after
five games to wrap up high
score. Ray Coale placed second
with 391. He was followed by
Laverne Stone, 388 and Verda
Lightfoot, 361.
Pearl McKnight claimed high
score in four games Thursday,
edging out Sena Gosar's 334
with a score of 336.
Roy Hunter placed third with
321 and John Pepper rounded out
the top four with 231.
A score of 418 was good
enough. to put Bob Blair in the
top spot Wednesday (Jan. 20) in
four games of mixed shuffle-
board action.
Verda Lightfoot turned in a
352 to clinch second place while
Louis Weigand and -Iva Blair fol-
lowed with 334 and 301 respec-
tively.
Phil Hern led in three games
with 299, edging out Charles
Hendy who notched 290.
Gertrude Hamilton scored 272
to secure third spot while Harold
Davis rounded .out the scoring
with 261.
A- score of 325 in five games
was good enough to put Bob
Blair on top for the second time
in as many days Thursday•(Jan.
21). Roy Hunter claimed second
place with 324 while Ross Rich-
ardson came in third with 292.
Pearl McKnight took fourth spot
with 288.
In four games Thursday, Mu-
riel Marshall scored 305 to cap-
ture high score. John Pepper fol-
lowed Marshall with 287.
Third place went to Verda
Lightfoot with 267 while 258
earned Delmar Skinner fourth po-
sition.
Beatrice Richardson recorded
275 to place first in three games.
January 27, Howard Johns led
in mixed shuffleboard with a
score of 326. Following Johns
was Harold Davis with 32I and
Wilman Davis with 263.
In three games, Iva Blair scored
238 to edge out Mabel
McKnight with 236. Harold Bea-
ver took third spot with 227.
Thursday, January 28, Wilma
Davis notched 407 to capture
high score in six games. She
was followed by Mabel
McKnight with 389 and Meine
Eizenga with 385.
Iva Blair took top honours in
five games Thursday with 369.
Walter Davis followed with 368
and Harold Davis took third place
with 352.
In four games, Pearl McKnight
scored 300 to lead the pack.
Mahlon Ryckman came second
with 285 while Bruce Watson
placed third with 239:
Cole gets Little Hawks hat trick
Wayne Cole had a productive day
on the ice Saturday when he led Ex-
eter Little Hawks to a 7-1 win over
Strathroy with three goals in Tyke
action.
Cole gave Little Hawks a one
goal lead in the first period and then
opened the scoring in the second.
Scott Keys scored at 13:02 to
give Exctcr a 3-0 lead and them
Timothy Mayer made it 4-0 . .
In the third, Little Hawks got
goals from Mike Boulet, Chad
Monteith, Mark Shepley and Cole,
who scored his third goal of the
game with just 20 seconds left to

p Danny. Snell was in net for the
win.
Exeter Little Hawks now have a
record of three wins, two losses and
one tic.

just 32 seconds after his first. Brian
Mercer and Kris Bedard assisted on
both goals.
Capitalizing on a momentary lay -
back by Mohawks, Nelson -Turnbull
and Dave McCormick scored for
Mooretown late in the second to
keep thing interesting.
The two teams matched goals in
the final period. Randerson potted
his first of the night from Wilker
and Randy Kraut near the ten min-
ute mark of the period.
Mooretown's Jim Bigras scored
with less than one minute to play.
Injured goalie Rick Pikul was re-
placed by Sid Kemp late in the
third.
The two teams next meet in Exet-
er Friday night -at 8:30 p.m.
Rolph score four goals for Bullets
Jamie Rolph pumped in four
goals and drew one assist for Exeter
Big V Bullets when they thrashed
Watford 8-1 Thursday night on the
road. Rolph, along with Scott Par-
sons and Brad Thompson accounted
for 13 points over the course of the
game.
Bullets took a narrow 2-1 lead in
the first period on goals by Parsons
and Thompson. The two players as-
sisted each other on their respective
goals while Rolph picked up his
single assist on Thompson's goal.
Watford put the puck in the net
with 53 second to go in the first.
In the second period, Derek Beck-
ett sparked Bullets when he scored
on a pass from Jason McBride.
Rolph reached into his bag of
magic tricks at 6:30 to score an un-
assisted goal.
Just 3:20 later he potted his sec-
ond of the game on a pass from
Thompson.
Rolph didn't ease up in the third
period. Only 15 seconds had elapsed
in the final stanza when he put the
puck in the net again with the help
of Parsons and Thompson.
McBride scored from Beckett and
Shawn Webster at 2:45 and then
Rolph finished the game with nine
seconds to play after picking up a
pass from Parsons and pumping in
his fourth goal.
Bullets played to a 1-1 tic when
they hosted Strathroy January 23.
Again it was Rolph who acted as
Big V's main producer. Rolph con-
nected with Parsons and Greg Ag-
new at 4:49 of the second, matching
a first period goal by Strathroy.
Runic Dougall was in net for Ex-
eter.
Exeter Mac Cats caught up with
Big V Bullets January 22 in Lamb -
ton -Middlesex play.
Mac Cats took a two goal lead in
the first period on goals by Allan
McFalls and Stan Partridge. Assists
went to Nicky Szabo and Kevin
Johns.
At 2:09 of the second, Brad

Parsons to score, keeping Bullets in
the game.
Mac Cats went scoreless in the
second but made up for it in the
third with goals from Bryan Inch
and Mark McDonald. Peter Gryseels
drew an twist on Inch's goal while
McDonald put the puck in the net
unassisted.
Ilderton 5 - Bullets 3
After taking a 3-2 lead in the first
period Saturday, Big V Bullets al-
lowed three Ilderton goals in the
second and then found themselves
unable to recover.
Ilderton's Jeremy Ross opened the
scoring on a pass from Jamie
Campbell just two minutes into the
game.
Bullets replied when Parsons
scored from McBride near the half
way mark of the first.
Campbell restored Merton's lead
with a well placed shot less than
one minute later. Assists on the
goal went to Mike Giannelli and
Chad Nuckowski.
In a matter of seconds, however,
Exeter was ahead by two. Beckett
pumped in two quick goals with as-
sists going to Thompson, Steve
Cook and Mike Strang.
Giannelli reciprocated for Ilderton
with two quick markers of his own
in the second with assists going to

Todd Siddall and Campbell.
Rob Winship put the game out of
reach with 3:56 left to play in the
second when he scored from Gord
McKenzie.
Neither team scored in the third
and lldenon went home with a win.
