Support sought for anti -trade deal rally
On Saturday January 2 there is
going to be an anti -free trade rally at
the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor,
and the Catholic Rural Life Confer-
ence group is asking for support. If
you are interested in going by bus
from London at 9:30 a.m. phone
Joe Miller or Clare Regier.
Bowling
Thanks again to Tony and Mar-
lene Bedard for treating the Zurich
bowlers to some delicious snacks at
our annual Christmas night last
Monday.
I was the lucky winner of the
"hidden score" on our team.
Draws were also made on tickets
for glass bowling balls. They were
won by Mel Cooper of Seaforth,
Donna Webster and Thelma Thiel,
of Zurich.
Figure skating
Parents of those taking figure
skating lessons are, reminded that
the children go tonight (Wednesday
December 30) this week only for
lessons at their usual times.
Personals
Saturday and Sunday visitors with
Ed and Lottie Gascho were their son
Don Gascho from Toronto and
grand -daughter Jane from New Jer-
sey. They all spent Christmas to-
gether on Sunday at the home of
their daughter, Betty -Ann and Doug
O'Brien.
Russell and Elizabeth Grainger
had most of their family home to-
gether on Boxing Day (31 in all)
with a delicious Christmas dinner
enjoyed by everyone present.
Congratulations to Marinus Vcr-
munt who was the first Trip of the
Month winner for this year and will
be going to Columbia.
Perfect weather conditions for
driving over the holidays enabled
people to travel for Christmas (even
though it really didn't look much
like Christmas.
A few of the visitors to the area
• are Dave and Melissa Beer and two
children from Ottawa, who arrived
on Christmas Eve at the home of
her parents, Mozart and Marie Geli-
nas Sr. They are spending the
week's holidays visiting with sever-
al family members in Zurich, Lon-
don, and with Dave's mother, Lil-
lian Beer and' brothers in Hensall.
Visitors at the home of Louis and
Josephine Denomme are their son
Fred, Donna and Anna from Calgary
for Christmas.
Mrs. Margaret Kalbfleisch spent
the Christmas season with her chil-
dren in Toronto and Burlington.
Mrs. Juliette Denomme had a nice
time while in Kitchener for Christ-
mas visiting with several of her
children and grandchildren; while
staying with her sons Ambrose and
Peter Denomme.

Jake, Maxine and Stephanie Pe-
ters spent from Christmas Eve until
Sunday in Niailara Falls with his
brother and family.
Tony and Adeline Denomme
spent Christmas day with their chil-
dren, grandchildren, great-
grandchildren (about 45 in all) at the.
arena. Everyone enjoyed the .deli-
cious turkey and ham dinner. Gifts
were handed out to all the kids.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery
are extended to Irene Schilbe, who
spent a few days in St. Joseph's
hospital before Christmas.

Once again it is the season of the
year that we take this opportunity
to extend our good wishes for a very

residents and 3►aff. We appreciate all
the acts of kindless and generosity
extended to the home and the resi-
dents from both individuals and
groups throughout the year. By the
time we greet you again, we will be

The films that were shown in the
evening of Monday, December 14
were "Natural Journey and the
Christmas ,Messenger". Refresh-
ments followed.
We welcome Mrs. Ruby Hog-
garth who has returned from St. Jo-
seph's Hospital much improved.
We were pleased to have the Zu-
rich Public School present their
morning Christmas program here in
the auditorium on Friday, December
18.
Our sincere thanks and apprecia-
tion goes to the Zurich Women's
Institute for the gift of a beautiful
wooden high chair which will be so
beneficial' for families with small
children who come to visit with
their family here.
The Junior choir of Zion Lutheran
Church, Dashwood, visited the
home on the evening of Saturday
December 19 bringing their Christ-
mas message in song.
The Sunday School of the Zurich
Mennonite Church gathered in the
auditorium on Sunday morning to
sing for the residents and Sunday af-
ternoon, the youth group from St.
Peter's Lutheran Church visited
with the residents as well.
The Sunday evening chapel ser-
vice was conducted by Rev. Brian
Elder of Crediton United Church.
