As an alternative, the City of Sar- nia has reported excellent sources with their REBOUND Programme, and they are now reaching out into other communities to share their is and assist in establishing sim- ilar groups. The REBOUND Programme works with young offenders who have a high potential for reform and who prepared to co-operate in the 12 week programme to avoid criminal charges. The programme works alternative with volunteer "coaches" from the community under the auspices of the local police department. The w^ckly sessions feature a pro- fessional from various sectors of the community, speaking to the group and using familiar scenarios to help the young offenders identify specific problems they may be having and to help them gain a new perspective on their individual situations. Chief Larry Hardy believes the programme could work with tre- mendous benefit in Exeter and the surrounding areas and has ap- proached the'B.I.A. for its support. Start-up costs for such a programme would in the area of $3,000 and the invitation to participate with, either volunteers, financial assistance, or ts►CMS an►ONrnw6iTiasCTAS CYLTS u21:1aocamITTEIT ckn CT.TVT TTP1T3 IS.TTIVTATOWISaTISSa ►amNITTAisg .
