Jason Lindenfield was in net for blazers. legionaires squeezed out of Clinton tourney Exeter Legionaires got squeezed out of a victory Friday night in their first game of a Clinton Ban- tam tournament when Wingham beat them 6-5 in an overtime shoot- out.. Legionaires took a 1-0 lead in the first period and turned it into a 2-1 ' advantage in the second. Harlen Tinney put Exeter in front in the first when -he picked up a pass from Jason Hem to score. In the second, Hern scored a goal of his own from Dave O'Connor and Tinney. Steve Dubarry added a goal in the third, unassisted, but Wingham was able to match the effort and tie the game. After five minutes of sudden death overtime, the game was still tied 3- 3 and a shoot-out was called for. After the first three shooters, both teams managed a goal. Exeter's point was made by Tinney. In the next three rounds, Wingham man- aged to get past Exeter twice while only Dave Dalrymple was success- ful for Legionaires. Exeter was forced to take a 6-5 loss. The tourney schedule brought Le- gionaires and Forest together Sun- day. After a scoreless first period, For- est built a two goal lead and Exeter trailed 2-0 going into the third. Molting Hawks Eric "Chromey" Finkbeiner came out of a prolonged scoring slump, to lead the Molting Hawks with three goals, in their 11-4 victory over Forest Wednesday. Also scoring three goals were Ken Bergman and Scott Burton. Chipping in with one each were Bob Jones, Jim Pfaff. Pctc McFalls addcd four assists. Exeter Molting Hawks travelled to Stratford to play a strong Oldtim- ers team Sunday. Exeter lost 11-5. Exeter scorers were Ken Bergman with two, Keith Ahrens one, Bob Jones one and Bob McDonald. Strathroy Oldtimcrs visited the Molting Hawks Monday with Exet- er winning 12-4. Keith Ahrens went on a scoring spree with five goals and two as- sists. Ken Bergman also had a seven point night with one goal and six assists. Bob Jones picked up one goal and four assists. Walt Ticdcman two goals and two assists.
