Sympathy is extended to the fami- ly of the late Mrs. Charles (Ada) Pinner who passed away Friday and was buried Monday from the Hoff- man's Funeral Home Dashwood. In- terment Crediton Cemetery. Rev. You're invited to come and bring the whole family and/or friends to the morning worship service on Sunday, December 13 at 10:30 a.m. The Sunday School will be in -charge of the program. Plan to bring along some sandwiches and cookies or squares and stay for lunch. A bev- erage will be provided. This will be the Christmas pro- gram or our Sunday School. Come and join our young children as they share the story of Christ's birth with us in their own special way. On Friday afternoon, December 11, we wish to rehearse our Sunday School Christmas program from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. If your child gets off the school bus at the church, would you please plan to pick him/ her up after rehearsal at -5:30. UCW meets The UCW held their Christmas meeting on Thursday December 3 at the church. A pot luck supper was held with wives and husbands or friends. Evelyn. Pickering and Sandra Martin had charge of the worship service. Rev. Peebles from Grand Bend led in sing song and was speaker for the program which was a Christmas message. Santa will be handing out candy for the children. Personals Crediton and District Social Club held their Chrisujas dance Saturday at the Community Centre. Spot dances were won by Mr. and Mrs. Don Maguire. Marilyn Thompson, and Bob Latta, Sharon Glanville and Jim Allen, and Stan and Shirley Preszcator. Happy birthday was sung to Mary Glavin and Don Winters. Door prize was won by Jeannette Lippert. Allen and Doris Pfaff won the Christmas dinner box. This was donated by bRisinessmen and individ- uals in the surrounding district. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Preszcator spent Thursday with Mr. and - Mrs. Norman Hubley, Scaforth and the four were Friday supper guests with Mr. and Mrs: Harold McCallum RR 1 Walton. Mt. Carmel Twenty-nine ladies were present for our December meeting, which was opened by Fr. Goyeau with a Respect for Life Prayer. - Theresa McCann read two poems One for Christmas and the other a kitchen prayer. The minutes of the last meeting were read by Diane An- drews. The treasurer's report was given by Nell McCann and Diana Hardy took attendance and read the correspondence. Card party dates were discussed and set for January 17 and 31, Feb- ruary 14 and 28, and March 13 and 27. Theresa Larkin thanked all the la- dies that baked and helped in any way at Dennis Wilhelm's celebra- tion of his ordination to the deacon - ate on Sunday. Dennis added his many thanks to all who made this celebration so special for him. Theresa Larkin presented Father G. Goyeau and Dennis Wilhelm •1k -with Christmas Gifts for which they both thanked us. An aftemoon of crafts will be held in the meeting room on Thursday, December 10, 1-3:30. Dorothy Die- trich will show us how to make a Santa Christmas decoration. Then we were all invited to the Rectory where Dennis Wilhelm dis- played his cooking talents. We sam- pled his spaghetti squash with homemade spaghetti sauce and for dessert - banana crepes. All was delicious and the enter- tainment amidst the cooking only added to the enjoyment of the even- ing. Next meeting is January 5, 1988.
