Get all terrain vehicle Times -Advocate, December 2, 1987 Authority approves projects The Ausable Bayfield Conserva- tion Authority, meeting in Kirkton Friday approved nine projects which will be carried out in 1988. The Lake Huron Shoreline Pro- cesses Study will be implemented in conjunction with the St. Clair, Saugeen and Maitland authorities,It will look at lake shorelines to deter- mine where and when the sediment comes and goes. The Huron-Lambton flood and erosion risk mapping program will include maps of lake flooding dur- ing maximum lake level periods and setback lines of erosion and unsta- ble slopes. A Thedford-Klondyke public in- -formation map will be produced from information provided by the Thedford-Klondyke marsh area floodplain delineation study. The Parkhill dam outflow protec- tion project will provide mainte- nance for protection put in when the dam was first built. The Port Franks harbour water management study will look at the spill area between Mud Creek and the Ausable River. A map will be produced to outline the Arkona flood plain management study. The watershed erosion inventory project will take a look at the entire watershed with a high priority on where eroded land gets into the streams. The conservation eduction feasi- bility study will check into the pos- sibility of establishing an outdoors education centre jointly with the Maitland Authority. On this subject general manager Tom Prout said, Camp Sylvan' has served us well for close to 25 years.We will decide if we can serve area schools better on our own with a closer facility." The Ausable Bayfield Conserva- tion Authority Foundation has re- ceived a leading donation toward the purchase of an all terrain utility ve- hicle. Huron Tractor of Exeter has donated $200 plus an equitable fi- nancing arrangement to the Founda- tion. The Ausable Bayfield Foundation adopted this fund raising project as its first project since the preparation and acceptance of its Plan of Direc- tion. The purchase of the utility vehicle meets a policy of the Foundation which states: "The Foundation shall support the upgrading of facilities and equipment of the Conservation Authority to serve the needs of han- dicapped persons." Once the Foun- dation has completed payment on the utility vehicle it will be turned over to the Ausable Bayfield Con- servation Authority.
