Church service The Rev. K. Teddy Smits was in charge of the first Sunday in Advent church service on Sunday morning. He told the children a story and had Rebecca, Laura and Maggie place three figurines in the stable and Der- ek Etherington lit a candle in the ad- vent wreath. Combined with the singing of the advent carols and children placing the first figures in the stable, the Rev. K. Teddy Smits spoke about the qualities of the Son of God who was to be born.
