ple from the community. Friday
was the annual Christmas bazaar
which seems to be getting bigger
and bigger each year. The volun-
teers, families and staff showed their
talents.

The first euchre for this season
was held last Wednesday night No-
vember 25, at Shipka Community
Centre.
There were seven tables in play
with twelve games played. Prizes as
follows: ladies high - Eileen Pull-
man, Exeter; ladies low - Mary Gib-
son, Shipka; mens high - RosS
Pickering, Shipka; mens low -
Lorne Fenner, Shipka; most lone
hands - Clive Pullman, Exeter.
It was announced another euchre
to be held in two weeks on Decem-
ber 9th.
The far south group were in
charge of lunch refreshments.
Personals
Mrs. Iva Latta, London, has been
visiting a few days here with her
brothers, Jim and Ken Pickering.
Don and Elizabeth Adams are
home after a week of holidays, vi-
siting friends, Mr. and Mrs. Roy
Henderson, in Charleston, South
Carolina.
Sandra and Tony Regier, Chris,
Heather and Jillian, of Detroit,
spent the long American Thanks-
giving weekend here with Sandra's
parents, Ken and Ortha Baker.
Earl and Minerva Baker, of St.
Thomas, stopped for a short visit
last Friday at his nephew's, Gary,
Sheona and Jeffrey Baker.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Smith, and
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Rankin, all of
Rodney, Michigan, visited recently
at their nieces, Lucille and Harold
Vincent, Mike and Michelle.
Hugh and I visited last Saturday at
Blue Water Rest Home, Zurich,
with Lorne and Loreen Devine, and
my cousin Mrs. Ruby Hoggarth.
Recent visitors with us were Mel-
vin and Genie Stade.

Grand Bend II 4-H club girls and
some of their mothers, attended the
Achievement Program, held at Stan-
ley Township Complex, Varna, for
the project of "A Taste of Ontario
Fruit and Vegetables", last Tuesday
i night November 24.
The seven girls completing this
project were Connie Russell, Pam
Dietrich, Elizabeth Gaudio, Karen
McKay, Sarah Patterson, Jennifer
Weigand and Rachel Smith. This
group consisted of girls in the areas
of Grand Bend, Dashwood and Ship-
ka.
All the girls received recognition
of completing this project, and Eliz-
abeth Gaudio received County Hon-
ours of completing six projects.
Well done girls! Leaders of this
group were Brenda Love and Mary
Cocck.

Perth Riding Member of Parlia-
ment, Harry Brightwell, announced
that a Public Works contract for
$42,255 has been awarded to J.T.T.
Contracting Limited of R.R. 1, St.
Marys. Mr. Nick Huitema is presi-1
dent of J.T.T.Contracting Limited.
The contract is to provide repairs to
the South Pier in Bayfield.
J.T.T. Contracting was selected
for this job from applications ten-
dered by Public Works. Public
Works oversees all repair and con-
struction work for the Canadian
Government. The Bayfield breakwa-
ter project came from the Depart-
ment of Fisheries and Oceans.

Ryan Carroll let the first candle,
Marguerite Greenlee read the lessons
and Sheryl Carroll provided music.
Next Sunday's service is planned
for 8:30 a.m. The following Tues-
day the A.C.W. is invited to the
home of Carol Greenlee for the
Christmas meeting. The second
Sunday in December there will be a
pot -luck lunch and the Sunday
School party following the 11
o'clock service.
