Members of the SHDHS band
were joined by parents, friends and
teachers in their mammoth pizza
making project .
Starting from scratch, the band
members mixed 108 cans of sauce,
600 pounds of cheese, 60 cans of
mushrooms and 245 pounds of pep-
peroni into 8,400 crusts.
Orders were taken for the individu-
al pizzas which were bundled into
packages of one dozen each and sold
for $10. By late Sunday afternoon,
all 700 packages had been sold.
It is expected close to $2,800 will
be. realized to support the high
school band which is appearing at
many area functions.Their latest ap-
pearance was at Wednesday's town
of Exeter Appreciation Night ban-
quet at the South Huron Rec Cen-
tre.

Dinner thanks 35 volunteers

At Craigholme November 12 was
the annual Christmas and Thank.
You Meal for the 35 volunteers.
These people are very important to
the Holme and 'community. Gucst
speaker, Shirley Hodgson showed a
short film on Alzheimers.
Friends and acquaintenaces of the
Nelson Scheifele family extend their
sympathy in the death of their cho-
sen son Leigh on November 18.
Nelson was the administrator at
Craigholme from 1973 to 1980.
Meadow Park Nursing Home in
London is the only Alzhiemers unit
in Canada that is government fund-
ed
Nancy Pratt had filled the.vacancy
as Director of Resident Carc at Crai-
gholme. Nancy came from Wild -
wood Nursing Home where she also
was Director of Resident Carc.
Last May we were saying farewell
to Paul Hodgson of Nairn as he left
for Belize. He was teaching for On-
tario Hydro for six months and
Wednesday he was welcomed home
by family and friends.
The community park is looking
good. The parking arca is complete-
ly paved with some new trees plant-
ed behind the short divider fence that

keep cars from getting on the grass
or playing field.
The pavilion is completed with a
new cement pad and new roof. The
trees that were planted and trans-
planted arc coming along real well
and will provide shade for picnic
goers.
It's going to give Gala Days a
new look in 1988 with more land to
place things. The park has really
taken on a great new look, with
more to come. This is where a part
of the Village ONIP grant has been
used.
The Ailsa Craig United Church
had a very successful bazaar Satur-
day.
The crowd soon bought up most
of the goods that were displayed
while coffee or tea with a dessert
was served to each shopper.
The Ailsa Craig Aces hockey
team that play in Huron Park came
out in the bottom of a 4-3 score
against Centralia Marauders. This
game played November 15 had
Craig ending the first period 3-1.
End of second the Marauders had it
tied 3-3 but 13:18 of the third came
the crunch for the Aces as it proved
to be the winning goal.
Next night Aces played Mt. Car-
mel ilia. f )und Jerry Thompson hot

The A.C.W. met at the home of
Ethel Copeland Thursday evening,
Mary Blackler read the opening sen-
tences. Verna Blackler read the
scripture and meditation. Roll call
was answered by a family Christ-
mas Tradition. A business meeting
followed closing with prayer. Lunch
was served by the hostess.
Mrs. Wm. J. Blackler London
spent the past wee'' an'l a half visit-
ing with her son Mr. and Mrs.
Burns Blackler and attended a sur-
prise birthday party for Burns at Av-
onton Hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Stephen held
their Christmas dinner for the Ste-
phen family Sunday. Unfortunately
due to a car accident Rea Stephen
was a patient in St. Marys Hospital
and unable to attend. We wish him
a speedy recovery.
